Reese tried to tough it and she played pretty good but it seemed like her injury affected rest of the team. In 1st quarter, Reese was taking over. After getting hurt, she wasn’t the same. Rest of team seemed a little timid.

Agree, but our problem was Clark. I would have put Johnson on her and said so before the game. I'm sure Kim didn't want Johnson to get in foul trouble though.

bad shooting night for the Tigers except for Flau'jae. missing lay ups on one end and giving up 3's on the other. Easy to see why they lost

She’s the leader on the court and lockerroom, which kind of worries me about next year unless Flau’jae can step into that role

That's just womens basketball

Clark is the greatest female college player ever and she showed why. Sometimes you just get beat by better players.

Please stop repeating this dumb take. Clarke would have scored 35+ no matter who guarded her. We lost the game defensively on transition and pick and rolls. Having 4 8th grade rated girls score 50+ points on wide open lay ups is what the real problem was. So the blame is the off the ball defense not a hall of fame coach making a bad decision like yall love to try to sell.

It's like people don't realize Clarke averaged 32 points a game, this season, lol.

The difference in the game was LSU could not get the put backs to fall. They had 21 offensive rebounds, but only 14 second chance points.

3rd qtr was the problem. It’s like the rim had a lid on it.

They missed too many easy shots and layups.

Clark was phenomenal but...our real problem was a poor offensive performance. We weren't ever going to stop Clark from hitting 3s from well behind the arc. We lost by 7 points...a difference of missed free throws by Reese.

Field Goal % seemed awful in the second half compared to the first. If the offense plays the second half similar to the first, LSU wins by 10.

The refs letting Iowa hip / body check as much as they wanted as long as their hands stayed up didn’t help. It’s like the refs forgot you can foul a shooter without using your hands

She was fine overall. Hit her averages in NCAA tournament.

She shook it off and played well in the second half. Rebounded and scored. You guys are kind of acting like she played the rest of the game on crutches.

Yeah she either killed with her shot or passed to cutters in half court sets. Maybe a box and 1 would have limited the assists some and maybe conserved some energy. Don’t recall if LSU showed this. Anyhow I’m sure they’ve seen that look and would have had an answer ie she would just pour on more points.

yes, Clark is phenomenal.

But good game planning and scheming can make a difference. No one expected to shut Clark down - but we didn't even slow her down, in fact it was the opposite.

We let Clark score 9 points over her season average and get 3 more assists than her average.

How can all the other teams on Iowa's schedule (on average) do a lot better than us in dealing with Clark?

The way she got hurt was cringe worthy. She blocked a shot and turned to trash talk before losing her balance. Hate it for her.
