These first 4 games will be critical to the possibility of having a special season or a nightmare of a season. If LSU can go 4-0 then lookout, I think the momentum will be huge and anything is possible as far as the season goes. Now if we lose to the Canes then I think things can go south in a hurry due to confidence levels and this includes a possible let down against La Tech. The bottom line is handle up on the Canes then our chances of beating Auburn go up big time which can then lead to a really good season.

It's going to be a disaster, especially if we lose to Miami

I would rather lose to Louisiana Tech if it means beating Alabama.

I agree if we lose to Miami. 2-2 or possibly even 1-3 to start the season which would be a disaster. I have no idea what this team will look like week one.

I'm hoping Steve E says frick it and comes out full bore guns blazing. If not in the first quarter to feel things out then the rest of the game and we go for the kill once we get some momemtum.

Those days of letting a team back into the game just bc they want to protect a lead needs to go. You can go for the kill without taking all types of risks. Get a lead and then dink and dunk them to death while mixing in some run game. Keep them on their toes the entire game. The D will do their thing, I'm pretty confident about that.

I'm excited to see how they approach this first big game. Should be a good one.

LSU ain't gonna win in AU Jordan Hare. fricking Notre Dame full power and or USC with Head Coach Peete Carroll ain't gonna win in that officiating cesspool.

Umm I don't know why or how you think that losing to La Tech is completely out of the question after last year. It's unlikely but if we happen to get whipped by Miami then I wouldn't bet anything on LSU beating Tech. I'm not saying I think the Canes will beat us either , I just have no idea what type of team LSU will field this year.

Yea, Miami is the linchpin of the whole season. Win, and the sky's the limit; lose, and Oeaux's seat temperature increases meteorically.

yea, cause a game 13 years ago is definitely relevant to this season.

1. if we blow them out everyone will be happy
2. a bowl game has nothing to do with the opening game this year...especially a game over a decade ago...thats like saying next year if we get blown out by texas like we did in the cotton bowl next year will people stop supporting O...stupid comment

Here's a positive note. O has stated that last year without the assistants he now has this year, that the staff wouldn't get the plan completely implemented until around Tuesday and so the team was always behind on preparing for the game.

Now that he has these extra coaches and assistants he mentioned that the entire staff will be much further ahead this year and so come Monday the game plan will be complete. They will have more time spent on film, tendencies, weakness, strengths, Ect.

Basically in 2018 LSU as a staff will have much more information on our opponents much earlier in the week. If that really was a problem last year and we still performed at a high level, even with all those young players, then in 2018 we should look and play with much more confidence and we have more team leaders already established.

This offseason should be much more purposeful and directive where as last year was more or less going through the motions. We'll see if this makes a difference in this years team? I would imagine that it would have to help the team play with much more confidence and speed on D for damn sure.

The offense will determine how many games we actually win. If they play like an offense that has a direct plan and they're all on the same page, playing with confidence, then this team will be very very good.

Get em ready Steve E and Coach O! Do whatever it takes to have this offense prepared for the season and we will be a very excited fanbase in 2018! GT

This is a big if. And then there's this little matter of the REST OF THE FKING SCHEDULE!

Have you bothered to look at it or are you just content to run around with O's schlong hanging out of your mouth spouting of to anyone and everyone?

Like it or not, if LSU loses, the anti O people that are morons will pump their chest and same goes for the supporters that are morons if LSU wins. As if the first game determines the outcome of the season.
