Let's keep using that as an excuse. It's as lame as any.

Washington had muscle on that defensive from. What they lacked was speed. Sometimes you have to stop being so damn hard headed and change what you usually do. We needed to be on the edges all night long. Later, the middle would have opened up. KW looked really good last night. Scott looked mediocre. Same with JJ. He should have been throwing after rolling out. He was not effective at all from the pocket. Have to get him in the open. You guys can disagree with me, and thats fine. This is just my two cents on the offense.

Here's a little extra...
Chad Jones has a longggggg way to go. His best hit of the night came three seconds two early and he never got flagged.

Cutrera had one hell of a game. And Riley looked like a beast.

I think we'll be fine in the long run. 1-0 is better than GA and Okie State.

The two main problems with the defense last night were a constant lack of containment by the defensesive ends and outside linebackers. The D-ends constantly bit on inside fakes and got sucked inside complete out of position to make a play.

This was driving me crazy!

Don't know what else you'd want.

Hey Fat Man, I'd prefer the opposition not get damn near 100 snaps to our 40. I'd prefer the opposition not go 11-19 on 3rd down conversions to receivers WIDE-arse OPEN.

I'd prefer the 5' 2" 185 Washington RB not gain 100 yards in the 1st quarter on our vaunted defense.

That's what I'd want for starters.

1. Conservative offensive play calling.

2. No effective Deffensive pass rush.

3. Pumped up Washington team.(Cudos to them).

4. Midnight to 1am play had to be a factor.

5. Lockart good QB.

6. 3rd down chavis!!!!!

Good job. I think that's the first time someone has said this in the last 24 hrs.

Notice that on the replay. Coleman was playing the 3rd receiver each time, leaving us in a 4-2, where both LBs were playing more inside than on the outside edges. Alem was over aggressive at times, getting him out of position.

Hell, I am just a novice at this defense stuff.

I seriously think Vegas 17 point spread was waaaayyy off. That might be the issue with most LSU fans. They expected to win by 17 or more, thinking that was the "true" spread. The unknown factor was the new coaching staff. Spread should have been around 10.

Spread should have been 17 and we should have/could have covered it.

If Chavis was at UT this year, I bet the stats would be the same.

No..They would not..That quarterback would have thrown for about 200 yards..when it was 3rd and 14 yesterday..It was a shock to exactly see a stop and the opposing punter coming on to the field.

We will take some lumps this year..But we have BETTER COACHING than we have had in YEARS..It was nice..
