OK.. GeauxHouston.. good to know... hard to tell sometimes.

I think the coordinators and assistants are just getting established in their relationships and our recruiting is going to be top 5ish going forward... we will have the talent int he pipeline and managing that will be how we judge Kelly. Everyone on here wants him to take the Florida State and Ol Miss approach, which is now proven to be a disaster. Granted I do not want him to be Clemson either, but getting 19 starters from your recruiting while adding 3 portal's every year seems to be the sustainable way to do it.

8-4 this year and a much tougher schedule next year. Breaking in a new oline will be tough at Clemson.

What should LSU have done this year to prevent this calamity?

Not started Campbell, Jones, Dellinger and Frazier every game in which they were healthy? Everyone knew Dellinger and Frazier were seniors and Campbell and Jones were likely to forego their senior seasons.

Pass blocking was great at times, but got dicey in the back half of the season once teams figured out that Nuss was not going to run if no one was open or if the pocket was breaking down.

2 sacks allowed prior to Dellinger going down with injury, then 12 sacks in the final 4.5 games. Cause and effect, hmmmm?

We won the west replacing all 5 in 2022. It’s fine.

DL low on bodies too.
3 years in and holes all over the roster.
BK is full of crap with his national championship nonsense.

Might not be a bad thing. Get some new blood in there that can run block a little

They’ll be breaking in a new crop of DT’s (minus Peter Woods), potentially a couple linebackers and their top safety, so there’s going to be a lot of new faces for them too - in both the run and pass game.

There’s holes on every roster these days. No school is immune from portal movement. Why don’t y’all wait to see what we bring in through the portal before jumping off a bridge? I realize that’s asking a lot from many of you.

Good thing we have recruited well.

You can bring in all the highly rated OL you want but you can't recruit experience in HS recruiting. What Will Campbell and Emery Jones did is almost unheard of - going wire to wire as starting OT.

We need portal OL badly.

Let's see. We couldn't run the ball. Pass blocking wasn't very good. We couldn't pick up the blitz. False starts galore. Missed assignments. Holding penalties. Did I leave anything out?

with all the good recruiting, i was surprised Mubenga was first off bench, and he didn't exactly give confidence that there were studs waiting in the wings

Right… but how do freshman and sophomores get experience without starting?

Unless we’re going to just start 5 transfers every year, we’re going to always be breaking in new guys.

why is this thread worthy? did anyone expect the Oline departures to be any different?...two seniors and two NFL-worthy juniors...get some portal guys to fill in and we will be ok...

You roll them in duting garbage time and with injuries. Or you see them for a drive here and there.

One or two inexperienced and young OL can be overcome. 4/5 OL is asking for trouble.

OL may or may not be good next year but one thing is certain, it will take awhile for chemistry to come together on it regardless who they snag from portal. Makes that Clemson game so early even more baffling.
