In the first three games we ran the ball an average of 38 times a game for 176 yards. Last night we ran 54 times for 283. The difference is in the running game. When you can run effectively it makes your passing game a LOT better.

This. They ran the ball 20 times in the loss vs Missouri. That’s terrible playcalling

So we have had zero designed short passing plays this year with Brennan? Please, we did them last year as well, every offense does. Brennan doesn’t get it from snap to the receivers hands as quickly as TJ on one read short passes. It makes those plays more like extended runs when you can execute them like TJ does. Also he made some throws down the field as well. Just not super bombs, but he is obviously capable of that with his arm.

Imagine if we had played defense in any game. We would be 4-0.

The same defense played last night, giving up a bunch of rushing yards and still committing terrible penalties.

The difference was game management by the QB. When you have an evolving defense, you need to keep them off the field. Lsu finally did that last night because we weren't calling a BIG 12 offensive gameplan.

Finley looked more poised and more decisive than Myles, it’s not even debatable.

so are you implying the passing game was not good the first 3 games?

Finley owned TOP... Defense while playing offense. Old school Les ball. 8 of 10 3rd down, not 0-10 mizzu. Mizzu and state owned TOP.

Offense hasn't been the problem.

Running the ball has been and that's part of the offense. Particularly in short-yardage situations on 3rd down, Finley did more than his share in getting the 1-yard sneaks (3 in the first possession including the TD on 3rd down).

Can't help but wonder with their desire to run up the middle on 1st and 2nd down against Missouri at the goal-line on their last possession if they had a package with 240lbs Finley if they could have gotten that last score and won the game.
