3. You say BH is WAY more gifted; I won't disagree with that.
Well I will disagree. BH footwork is terrible, his pocket presence is just as bad, he locks into a receiver, and doesn't throw a good deep ball. And decision making is really bad.
Etling showed better footwork, was able to step into the pocket to buy more time, and showed more accuracy. And has as good an arm as BH. "Way more gifted than Etling?" I don't think so.
That said, it's a Miles offense and in the 2nd half last week, the vanilla offense proved to be a bad thing for Etling.
Miles has ruined 4 QB's and considering how simplistic this offense is, he may ruin Etling too. With Fournette back I expect alot of vanilla in the passing game, which has been proven to be easy to defend.

They were both 4 star recruits for a reason
Look, BH is clearly not a good QB for whatever reason, but his raw physical abilities are undeniable.
He has ELITE arm strength and is very fast in the open field (although he never fricking runs so its pointless).
If Etling had BH's arm strength, he'd be a very good prospect. Like a really high level one.

Physically gifted.
The things you mentioned are coaching and mental stuff.
You know who else was physically gifted? Reggie "Worst College QB of All Time" Ball.

he's only going to complete about 50% of his passes for 150 or so yards and maybe 1 TD, right?

He's not the savior y'all are looking for

BH (who is WAY more gifted)
SEC nervous

He was actually benched for Austin Appleby who is a year older (He is a redshirt senior at Florida right now). Etling was a true freshman and 5 games into his sophomore campaign when he was benched at Purdue. He actually came in as a true freshman and beat Appleby out for the back-up spot. And after red-shirt senior quarterback Rob Henry was absolutely dreadful, they put Etling in and all his starts came against Big Ten teams. His first 3 starts were Nebraska, Ohio State, and Michigan State. The SEC is good, but those were great Big Ten teams to start a true freshman's career off.

The QB change could be the big change that will be remembered after this season is over if we experience success. I also think the timing is good for LSU and Etling to make that change. If he can gain experience and a win vs. Miss St it will parlay to better timing with better teams later in the season.
Lets have some faith and just a little patience these next few weeks as the Cam/Danny duo work to bring quality QB play to LSU. Chicken Little needs to take a nap.

That’s where Etling comes in. Etling was a 4-star recruit and he was thrown into a horrible situation. As a true freshman he had to play behind an offensive line that would have had to improve to be putrid. Purdue gave up 38 sacks that season and had less than no running game. Most of the time he was running for his life almost at the moment of the snap.
The second factor was the infamous John Shoop. Shoop burned through three quarterbacks before we finally fired him. Multiple people have said his offensive philosophy was needlessly complicated and I tend to agree. Etling might be talented, but you had him playing behind that offensive line trying to run a complicated offense with no real running game and of course you’re going to struggle. If Drew Brees magically came back and played on that team he too would have struggled.
Nice read.

(DE's not the savior y'all are looking for. He's Plan B behind BH (who is WAY more gifted can't put it together mentally) If BH is so Gifted he would be running the ball instead of throwing int! his throwing motion and foot work tell's me he has a learning curb! time to move on to the next QB DE,and LS this season. I know most fans won't like this, But it is what it is!

Using your logic if Drew Brees was at LSU he would be sitting behind BH.
You can be the best athlete with the strongest arm in college football, but if you don't have it between the ears you're never going to succeed at QB.

So he's not gifted. Please tell us what makes him more "gifted".
Hey dumbass, pocket passing an is about 90% mental.

But for Etling he may have chosen conundrum 2 (Miles)....

Some may have dismissed Etling because it seemed similar to the Penn St. QB transfer (and maybe one other) that never competed for the job.
I'm a big believer that different situations can really make a QB look good or bad in both the NFL and college. For example, if a QB does really well in college (possibly aided by the system) and gets drafted high to a franchise in chaos (think Cleveland Browns), they will probably struggle. If they are lucky enough to resurface after a few years in a better organization, they can appear to be much better.
Sounds like this may be the situation for Etling.

This is a really stupid thing to say. Watching Etling Saturday I saw someone who has pocket presence, goes through his check downs and is a positive leader on the field. He's going to do just fine.

Conundrum is a pretty good wine.
