The crowd was poor yesterday

Except for a futile attempt at a comeback in the 9th...
I mean there was a lot of people there but the crowd hardly even tried to have an impact on the game. It was like a peaceful picnic in the park atmosphere.
The crowd was poor on Sunday in the regional final.
The crowd was poor this entire season for the most part.
The only game this year that had an intense feeling atmosphere was the marble game of the regional last Saturday night.
Florida State's players must have been wondering what all the hype was about. I don't understand Mike Martin's comments praising the crowd. If that's the loudest crowd he's ever heard, he would really be shocked if the crowd was hyped.
We used to have better atmospheres for regular season games. I don't know what is wrong with LSU fans anymore. Most of the fans are just sitting/standing there watching the game.
And I don't want to hear anyone blame it on the coaches or the players. I don't care who the coaches are or who the players are or what decisions they are making or how they are performing, that should have no bearing on the fans willingness to try to affect the game and help the team win.
And I don't want to hear anyone blame it on the "new Box" either. There were great crowds the first several years of the "new Box" as well. There have still been great crowds on a few isolated occasions in recent years. The venue has nothing to do with the crowd cheering. If you think it does then that is part of the problem. The crowd as a whole has a poor mentality these days.
I don't care if you don't like the coaches or their decisions, or the players or their performance, or the stadium or its features, or the way the game is played these days, or anything else. You can come on here and complain all night long. I don't care. But if you are letting any of those things affect your willingness to cheer for the team, then you are a bigger problem than any of those things. No fan should ever say they want the team to go to Omaha if they aren't willing to go scream for 3 hours straight.
The crowd better bring it tonight from start to finish.
And before anyone comments that the crowd doesn't determine the outcome, the crowd can definitely affect the opposing pitcher's ability to locate.
And before anyone asks me if I was there or if I was cheering, yes. It's hard for a few people to really make an impact. It has to be a collective effort.

Oh Jesus Christ not another one of these threads blaming the crowd.
It’s the crowds fault we were preseason ranked number one and couldn’t beat a team that had 4 errors.
Bitch Please. I ain’t reading all that bullshite

LSU's fanbase gets worried too easy. The fans show stress and worry the minute something doesn't go their way. You see it on this site as well. Any bit of adversity, and people lose their shite.
I think it has a negative impact on the team.

There was now way I could tell the crowd was horrible, especially during the strikeouts.

TL DR
The FSU catcher couldn’t hear the coach giving him the pitch calls at one point.. That said, the crowd did let up(just like the players) once we got a lead.. The players need to stay “up” today and finish FSU..

Sorry. I didn't see it. I've been to the vast majority of home games in baseball and football for the past 15 years. I don't think the crowds in either sport are consistently near what they were 10-15 years ago. Maybe it's just society today. Maybe there's just too many people more worried about playing on their phones these days. I don't know. It just doesn't seem the same to me. I felt like the crowd was terrible for the first 8 innings yesterday. Like I said, the crowd was hyped in the 9th but if you're idea of cheering is to wait until the 9th and try to mount a comeback, you're probably going to be disappointed more times than not.

You’re right, other teams’ fanbases get stoked when the visiting team hits a 425 foot 3 run bomb to tie the game

I hope the crowd is so bad today that FSU players can’t hear each other communicate, causing them to drop routine fly balls and miss signals.

You need some hearing aids. It was loud by tv standards.

The FSU catcher told the coaches he couldn't hear on the field for Christ sake

I don't know. In the 2 sections around me plus the people standing around those 2 sections, there were only a few people trying to cheer for most of the game. 95%+ were just sitting there watching. I guess everybody has a different experience and a different take.
