Good question. It isn't what you want people thinking about when they think about LSU. The thing is that I think most people are able to understand that these vulgarities at college sporting events are quite common. I don't think anybody who might hear STTDB is going to think of LSU any differently because it happens everywhere. Turn on a good college basketball game at any packed arena and you'll hear unified vulgarities from the student section.

Does that mean we want to be the exception and be the place that doesn't do such acts? Maybe. If so, that means we'll have to change an entire culture around LSU athletics.

This is what people keep missing. A chant with profanity is fine, but you make our whole fanbase look bad by not coming up with something clever and witty. The worst part is how much the retarded students REALLY want to chant this. They come off as pretty pathetic and sad.

I watched a few games this weekend and didn't hear anything remotely close to STTDB, unless you are lumping everything in together...like the usual bullshite chant.

It's so juvenile. Eventually some students will say they have had enough and due to the sheep mentality of most the chant will die. That is my hope anyway.

I didn't read much of the thread but mainly responded the way I did bc of your response when I gave my opinion.

Just out of curiousity, can anyone name a chant from another school that is deemed as this vulgar or as bad? I know they exist, just cant think of any examples.

Back when Missouri was in the Big 12 and played Kansas every year they had a variation on their M-I-Z Z-O-U chant that went:

Dear LSU Student Section......

Upon careful consideration after hearing numerous complaints from fans and alumni, the LSU Athletic Department has decided to move the entire student section up to the Stratosphere of the West Upper Deck starting with the 2013 football season.

Up there all you little candy asses can curse and spew those cute little chants to your hearts desire. That high up, all of it will just disappear up and away into the ethers.

We'll all be having fun once again down in the lower bowl listening to TGBFTL play Tiger Rag and Neck.

The seats previously occupied by all you cutie pie's, will immediately go on sell to the general public.

Yall have fun up there. Gets mighty cold that high up, starting in October.

Not sure about how you worded that, but if give yourself about ten years and you will be shaking your head at the immaturity of some things that the students do. You're not detached from that age group yet.
