The Canada misfire is why this was doomed from the outset

It was only going to take one misstep for this whole stupid arrangement to completely unravel and if the behind the scenes rumors are true, well then O managed to frick up his very first hire.

You really roll the dice every time you make one of these coordinator hires, they can look great on paper but sometimes you don't see its actually a bad fit until its too late. You can have all the money in the world to throw at coordinators but it does not guarantee success. For this to work O was going to have to bat 1,000 in the hiring department and that's just not feasible.

Rift between O and Canada, going to a "simplified" offense wasn't Canada's idea, and a few times in Saturday's PC O mentioned needing to call better plays and referencing "plays we called last year". It isn't clicking with them two, and apparently this is a trend with Canada.

You really think this is Canada's offense?

Come on, O has his grubby gumbo fingers all over this shite.

He was a Broyle's award finalist

The hire was solid. The fit.. not so much. Doesn't help that O is interfering with the offense either since his IQ is that of a potato

Quite a bit of sparring has taken place between Orgeron and Cananda.

And given how widely it's been reported, it's really no longer a rumor. They have some serious disagreements.

He likes to do his own shite. Why should a crazy cajun try to meddle with it when Canada has had immense success elsewhere?

some examples

quote:

O is incomptent but Canada is the problem. There is a reason Canada never stays in one place long. Essentially JA was conned by O and Canada conned O.

quote:

he rift is bad. I won’t go onto detail but, Canada will be gone if O is still around. He may leave on his own accord. Canada doesn’t like Baton Rouge. Apparently, the player really hate him also.

In a weird way I think O is sabatoging Canada.

Using him as a scapegoat to buy himself more time.

Canada was at Pitt for one year...and his offense did well enough that he was named one of five finalists for the Broyles Award, given annually to the top assistant coach in college football. Aranda was a stud last year...now the defense can't stop Troy.

It's just strange.

Is this the same offense that Canada ran at Pitt? I haven't watched much of their games from last year...just the Clemson game.

Do not agree I think Canada wants Myles to be the QB and O is not allowing the change. You can see the play calls are different when DE is in and Myles is in.

His offense at Pitt was good enough to beat Clemson, who generally have a decent defense, and put up 70 on Syracuse, but I think a lot of us were skeptical that this shifty misdirection nonsense was going to do anything in the SEC. Say what you will about SEC offenses, defense is always a stalwart. Maybe we just saw the point production last year and didn't really take a long hard look at what he actually ran and if that would work with this team.

Aranda was super complimentary of him during Canada's introductory PC, talking about how facing one of his offenses prepares you for everything, and that might be true, but I haven't really seen anything to indicate that we are making adjustments to fit what we have.

The only explanation is O. Once he gets his hands on a program it goes south in a hurry.

Look you hate O, that's fine, I don't like the hire. But it is kind of silly on your part to call o dumber than a potato. The guy just orchestrated a multi million dollar deal for himself. He isn't a dumbass no more than miles was. Also, Canada has had spotty success in the past and not much so far at Lsu.

Nope, Canada is more ball control, run base with short passing game. O likes the deep ball.

My thing is both Canada and Aranda have been successful at every stop. Canada's offense handled Clemson last year, but I'd be willing to bet that wouldn't be the case if we played them this year. Canada didn't just show up here and forget how to coach offense. Either our players aren't as good as we thought or he's been handcuffed. I thought the offense looked pretty good against BYU, except the penalties. We are weak on both lines and it is hard to do anything when you are getting beat at the line of scrimmage.
