How do spikes not tear that field up?

Tulane's new stadium is a joke. It looks nice from appearance but they did it on the cheap and if you look closer one can tell. People i know inside the program have complained to me about it multiple times. Apparently they didn't do the little thigns like putting a restroom in teh press box as well as the bricks behind home plate are aliminum adn not real. They modeled it after Ole Miss's new stadium from an appearance standpoint not a ammenities

Turchin Stadium is a very nice place to watch a game. Of course, the late afternoon kinda gets hot along the first base side but comfort and amenity-wise, Turchin is first class.
I haven't been to the new Box yet so can't compare.

That's a nice stadium Tulane has. I think it now seats more than their basketball arena. Anyway it's looks really good and beer makes it better

I've been to both. Alex box is a better place to watch a baseball game and its really not that close. Turchin is ok, but doesnt have the atmosphere. Alex both is much bigger obviously. Only real good thing about Tulane is that i can walk there from my house.

Turchin is a lot better than people are making it out to be. Seems like most of the people dogging it are the ones who haven't actually been to a game there. The selling of beer is definitely a plus. As a whole obviously the new Box is much better based on the amenities, but Turchin is a good place to watch a game.
The stadium seating itself is much more vertical based on the limited area on campus that the park is built, so you don't have to worry at all about seeing over the person in front of you and you feel like you are right on top of the field which I like.
As for the turf, it is definitely an advantage to Tulane playing on the turf year round. Everything from over-sliding the bases when stealing to how you play the angles cutting off the ball in the outfield. There was a game last year I was at where it absolutely poured down raining and as soon as the rain stopped, the game started not 15 minutes later. It would not have been possible to even play a game that day had the field not been turf, so with that was a plus.
But overall as a traditionalist and a fan of baseball, the Box is much better because I prefer real grass and mud over turf.

Lester, the only thing that was left from the old stadium was the fence and indoor hitting facility. The entire old Turchin was totally torn down just before Katrina, what is there is totally new not renovated.

The new box looks great from the road, never been in it and don't plan on it. It did cost 3X more than Tulane spent, of course you guys do have money to spend on sports while the Tulane administration seems to want to get rid of athletics based on the things they do.

Louisville has it and from what the installers told me that is the way many others have done it.

I may be in the minority, but I actually like field turf. It looks a lot better. Different topic, but I think we should go with it in Tiger Stadium to take advantage of our speed, not to mention the ongoing problems we continue to have with natural grass.
