As a former officer I witnessed many who were caught and were not kicked out. They were punished, but not kicked out. Many of them were productive members of their team and continued to be so after being caught, depending upon their specialty and level of security clearance. It's not so black and white across the board.

the fact that you're "angry" at all is what's a little disturbing to me

Isn't that the truth!?! Why be angry at this? The did the crime, will pay the time, and likely move on with their careers when we go to Bama. Why get angry when it doesn't involve you??? Some people just think they are a huge part of something that they arent.

quote:The fact that anyone gets angry over this is baffling to me. It makes me a little sick to think of what they have jeopardized for themselves and how that could affect the team. I think sitting any highly competitive starter for a rivalry game will send a pretty strong message. Kicking them off would be extremely overreacting. (All of this predicated on what the circumstances actually are.)

Exactly. His justification for his post - which came partly because of his self-professed standing in the service - told me more about him than it did the players.

I'm an LSU alumnus and fan who realizes that they're so damn fun to watch because of elite athletes like TM, SW, TS, JJ, RR, and RS.
And I'd rather my child to grow up like Brad Wing.
I like the character he displays while stealing girlfriends from punks who beat women and that he has friends like Jordan Jefferson to beat the shite out of the punks when they get out of line because they're butt hurt.

Disappointed...absolutely. Angry....not at all. I just wish these guys understood exactly what they have and knew that this stuff jeopardizes not only their career, but the success of the team. Its really a shame that they thought this was a good idea. But, life goes on, we'll smash Auburn this week, and get ready for the game of the century!

Chip also suspended his starting CB for our Game, and just our game I believe, for smoking weed in the car with the QB.

While JL is the great example as you mention, you cant hold everyone to that standard.... I mean you can, but you wont be very successful..
Look at Notre Dame, they refuse to relax thier acedemic standards for athletes,.... and they continue to suck at college football... the answer does not lie in one extreme or the other, but somewhere in the middle.... and I trust CLM to handle this situation in the best interest of all........IMO

This is the best part about being a fan. Soldiers, office workers, douchebags, negatigers, and people who talk a bunch of shite online can all come together for one common goal. It doesn't matter if you're a skank who supports the legalization of THC, a strictly German poster, or a respectable member of society, all that matters is that you love Lsu and hate Ole Miss, Auburn, and Alabama. I'd love to pick a side and throw my two cents in, but the reality is, I hate every last one of you, and side only with myself. Here's to hoping you all die before I do

Say, can you tell me what a false LSU fan and alumni is?

That is the word I should have used. Disappointed... not angry.
Also should have never brought up the military service. Morals and values are important to me as a person. Doesn't matter what job I do. At the end of the day I do it so that everyone here can have the freedom to make choices as well as have opinions.
So if you want to light up go ahead. If you don't then don't. By Saturday I will be watching us kick the crap out of AU.
Just remember one thing. I did not devalue any of you guys opinions. You guys can flame me, but I'm mother fricking teflon.
