GTFO.

It's not about JL. The same types of things were said about all the players involved and people choose to ignore that when 1 mistake is made.
The point is its stupid for anyone to tear down 85 18-22 year olds who make mistakes. And no they shouldn't be held to some higher standard because they play a game on saturdays that they are good at.
They made mistakes, are getting disciplined, now move on.

Once again, no agenda. We can use many other people. As a matter of fact, how about we say David Toms, LG Chenault, or Pete Maravich. I'm sure there are some other graduates that fit the bill.

Doesn't matter who. No agenda.

let me ask you this question.

If you are willing and knowingly doing something reapeatedly that you know for a fact that if you get caught you are going to be in some shite... why should ANYBODY feel sorry for you? WHy does it bother you and others so much that people call them out on it and call a spade a spade?

One of these is against the agreement they have with LSU as scholarship athletes.....do you know which one?

what about those on academic scholarships

Now Choctaw, you know this is completely different. Your everyday student on academic scholarship does not represent the University in the national media everyday. For this to result in suspension, this was not their first offense. I'm all for giving everyone a second chance, but a third is pushing it. What they did wasn't huge, but it WAS illegal and warrants discipline. 1 game is fair, even 2 could be understood, but I'm not on the kick them off the team side yet. Now that might change if they fail another one.

I don't understand why in the hell someone would risk what these guys did for themselves and their teammates to get high during this season when they knew what the repercussions would be.

The part that I don't understand is why the teammates come out and say that they forgive them and support them. BS! To have what could be a special season sabotaged by the selfish acts of a few, would piss me off as a player. Someone needs to be a leader and say enough is enough. Obviously, no one learned from the JJ incident. It is time that the other players start making the trouble makers accountable.

I'm wondering how many of you people throwing the suspended players under the bus would still be doing so if this "rumor" of failed drug tests had not been leaked.

Say all you know is "disciplinary" issue is the reason they are suspended...you still willing to crucify these players then??

I doubt it.

I don't think any of those players are 21 so going out and getting drunk would be illegal too

Actually there is a code of conduct that academic scholarships have, violate it and they lose their scholarship. Just like athletes....sorry to burst your indignation bubble.

The individual signs the agreement agreeing to abide by the rules set forth, and in exchange they are given a scholarship. You violate, you lose.

This has to be a troll.....right? Do you understand what they are accusing you of?

The proper response would have been the same could be said of Collis Temple, AP Tureaud, and Bradie James

1. not necessarily
2. i don't think suspensions have been confirmed yet

yes...but the OP wants them kicked off the team. 1 game is enough....some coaches wouldn't even do that.

cdupuy - You are comparing apples to oranges and here's the problem as I see it. The Army is a values based organization and a college football team is a results-based organization.

football is exactly like religion.

my religion is better than your religion.

my god is better than your god.

the rant offers an outlet for all the real and false gods to argue.

for example: you.....whoopie shite.

1) I was on a scholarship and would have lost it for weed due to it being an ROTC scholarship if I were to have failed a drug test.
If these kids violated rules that are part of their scholarship conditions than they should receive penalty.

and they have. by your admission the ROTC is not the same as an athletic scholarship...and the rules are being followed as laid down by the university. who are you to suggest newer, stiffer punishments?

quote:

You do not have to be in the military to be a true fan like one of you replied. I was simply drawing a parallel. The fact is that I had to make some very hard decisions that greatly affected the lives of some tremendous kids and their families when they made bad decisions.

Fact is, by allegedly being in a position where you have made a few decisions - which as you pompously point out affect many lives - still does not give you the moral high horse to advocate that players be dismissed from a public institution.

quote:

The last comment I made about JL was that I want my kid to grow up with determination, pride, and character. JL is not the only one in the team like that, but he stands out.

Why not any other players on the team who stand out? How about Brandon Taylor?? or even James Stampley?? But no, only Jarrett Lee stands out!! Why??
