especially since Landry is a “conservative” from Breaux Bridge that went to ULL
He is from St. Martinville. Graduated from ULL and Loyola.

We don’t want Woodward involved in another football coaching search, do we? He probably got one of the worst track records for football hires in The history of college athletics

I think u have zero insight to what is actually going on behind the scenes
this is obvious stuff, doesnt require any insight, just a sense of LSU, BOS and LA Gov history
joel klatt, josh pate, BTR media, even moscona tonight are all talking around this exact subject. I just wrote it up and put it all in one place

What potential LSU president candidate is going to want to walk into a job that makes decisions that are politically and financially volatile before he even comes to the university? Volatile decisions that new lsu president will have to live with.
President of LSU is a political position that is going to have to deal with Landry being involved.

Frick the BOS, I booed them when they stepped out on the field.

The BOS are political appointments of the governor and are not necessarily adept at running higher education. Why did the board approve such a large monetary buyout to Kelly?
Why did the board water down LSU admissions to no test scores needed? What happened to being the flagship university? We have plenty of other colleges in the state that can have open enrollment and lower standards.

no kidding?
maybe you’re not understanding what I’m saying, you have to recruit someone to take the President job that can get approved.
You make that more difficult when you fire the most prominent and visible employee of the university right before you try to get someone to take the job
who wants to walk into that kind situation would be a big question
University Presidents tend to want to hire their own people and be involved in the process
The best LSU president of our lifetime was Mark Emmert and he had a very hands-on involvement with hiring Nick Saban. Nick Saban also had a very close relationship with Emmert because of that. That close relationship allowed saban to go out and push very hard for new facility improvements for LSU football that were key for LSU to turn the corner.

Great questions, the proven HC market was crazy in 2021. Lincoln Riley got 10 years $110 million and a beach house from USC at the same hiring cycle.
LSU hired Brian Kelly. Scott Woodward convinced Tate that this was what it took, and Kelly was the right guy. Tate went to the Board of Supervisors and stuck his neck out and said Brian Kelly was his guy. That’s how it got done.
turns out it was a bad deal, who knew?

Woodward needs to be gone

Dude that is word-for-word Moscona's monologue on firing Kelly, you just typed it.

the thread I linked you right above where i started talking about this subject was posted last weekon the scoreboard after the vandy game
finebaum, pate and klatt talked about it nationally this week
MM is just talking about it now because the season is effectively over and we got embarrassed, MM isnt the only person who understands how all of this stuff works, especially in LA
and now Hanny is talking about it too
Hanny is adding the MBB situation into this as well, I hadnt thought about that part. That is another $7mm. Woodward may not survive all of this turmoil.

with other programs making big moves, where does that leave LSU and BK for 2026?
Can LSU muster up NIL for BK to rebuild the roster and the $20 million required for player stipends?
LSU has an in interim president right now, is this the time for a review of BK‘s contract situation?
Would an interim president want to be involved in that?
If LSU were to decide to move on from BK, does that mean the board of supervisors would take the lead with Scott Woodward on finding a replacement?

Who is better than Kelly to come here?

Gotta tell ya, I’m not a big fan of the way the money has been spent in the football program. Our current situation sounded bad when it was first announced, but it’s turned out even worse.

On top of that, so many other major universities are looking for head coaches, Florida, Penn State, Arkansas, UCLA, Oklahoma State... And there is still a lot of football left to be played, so who knows who else will be joining. And who will they be competing for, Clark Lea, a Vanderbilt alum? Brent Key, who is also coaching at his alma mater?
This is obviously not an ideal time to be making a change, which makes this season even more of a disaster.

we havent even gotten to that point of looking at HC candidates
lane kiffin has 6 years at $13.5 mm from Florida, his wife’s alma mater, sitting in front of his agent while he is poised for the playoff
penn state fired Franklin after a money pledge from Adidas to help pay him off

I would very happily take either former Tulane Head Coach Willie Fritz, or current Tulane Head Coach Jon Sumrall in a fricking heartbeat.
