The Best
6. Cutrera showed up. he didn't get juked and actually made a play in pass coverage

5. Nevis got penetration

4. PP can tackle

3. JJ can work when the D is in the backfield all night long

2. KW looks back

1. TT is the quickest 6-4 kid you'll ever see

The Worst
10. conservative offensive scheme/playcalling

9. Jai still can't play the ball in the air

8. dickson dropped 2 balls

7. Miles lost henson, so our usage of timeouts will be worse this year

6. Soft D means this may be a long year. add in poor tackling and it may be a REALLY long year

5. the OL was horrible run-blocking inside and pass blocking (barksdale mainly)

4. Helton is spanish for "30 yard punt"

3. PP got to tackle a bunch b/c our scheme lets WRs get open at will. UW was not scared to throw his way...a lot

2. pep livingston was eaten alive last night

Check out the play-by play of the game, Slow. The first three offensive series, we ran 7 plays up the middle for a total of 12 yards and one fumble.

KW ran MUCH more effectively up the middle than Scott did. FACT. But don't say that on the Rant. If we're not trying to smash people in the mouth over and over on offense, rather than using our advantages (speed), we might as well be a Pac-10 team. Right?

You forgot to add the MOST obvious thing:

LSU's defense looked horrible at shedding blocks & getting separation from the offensive player. Horrible.

Pass completions on third downs...they need 8 yds
we drop the lb's 13 yds so the underneath is always open. how dumb is this

It's because we are not running the I. CS did much better with a really good fullback plowing the road for him. I went back and re-watched most of the game and UW had no fewer than 7 men in the box every 1st and 2nd down play. Without the fullback, the numbers aren't in your favor going directly up the middle.

KW's run up the middle on the last drive came after running the option outside and spreading the D out a little. I think we will see a lot more variety in the running game against SEC competition. We will have to have an effective run game against better competition.

All this is to say that KW may be the better option at tailback this year if this is the style offense we are going to use. He can get through a smaller hole and has a lot more speed. He is also a lot more versatile, since he is a better bet to get to the corner when we run the option. If we are constantly rotating him and CS, the D will be able to read exactly what we are doing.

Miles gave them 3 and half time momentum with the dumbest use of time outs I have ever seen of a coach. WTF?

i didn't think miles could top trying to call a timeout after a turnover, but he did last night

I'm really disappointed in the d. I thought chavis would at least clean things up.

unless we see some big change, i think it's just a philosophical choice of miles honestly

the bad tackling was something i didn't expect, however

I'm pretty sure Sheppard and Riley think the goal of a linebacker is either to get swallowed up inside or blocked to the ground.

yeah we tried the single back, 2 TE set last night and sucked. t-bob/josh dyadousaodfuwk was atrocious

Yep! JC did a pretty good job of shedding blocks and/or anticipating the play such that he didn't have a body on him most of the time.

Riley/Sheppard both played footsie way too much with blockers.

that first touchdown drive for UW was a huge morale blow for me, not a good preview

There was a period of time in the 3rd quarter that it seemed like the D line was in their backfield on EVERY play. If they somehow learn to do that much more often, I think the other holes on D will be masked.

Question: Coach Miles what do you think of the 2TE offense?
