Right now it’s Patrick Peterson and Tyrann

I think Stingley supplants Tyrann

LSU has been blessed with many great CB's

Some not even list yet would be good picks as well.

Demetrius Hookfin TYFYS
it's astonishing that whenever there's a conversation about great lsu cb's, hookfin always gets mentioned. he's seriously a legend. if you wanted a player who couldn't cover anyone, he was the greatest of all time

In spite of what most LSU fans seem to think, Stingley was not at that level last year.

Tommy Casanova also played in an era when guys his size played other positions, not FS or CB. He was a trend setter before his time. Great athlete that could have played any position and still been a 3 time all American.

he had it taken to him in the Bama game by Smith and it wasn’t just that one play he looked away
oh my word not true. bama's wr's are the best of the best and stingley held his own. that's how it is when you're at the most elite level. people are looking at 3 or 4 plays.

He had a bad game there, no doubt
again, not true. those bama wr's were scorching db's all year long. stingley went toe to toe with them. people are not looking at the big picture

Stingley got beat/schooled all game long by Devonta Smith
it's crazy how this works. something gets said and then it just grows into a legend.

How many schools could leave off Tredavious White, Greedy Williams, Mo Claiborne, Corey Webster, and Tyrann Mathieu from their top 2 CB’s list?

Sure he held up on the great majority of the plays but that's not how these things are deciphered. 3-4 plays can be the difference in the game. In fact Stingleys torching by Smith on the bomb towards the end had LSU nation nervous as hell. Pass rushers are paid millions based upon 3-4 big plays a game. For a CB 1 or 2 big completions given up can be game changing. Ask AJ Terrell. He held up on most plays but when he didn't Chase torched him. What's our narrative concerning him?

again, most people are just myopic when analyzing football. 1 player is not responsible for winning or losing a game. there are 22 players on the field for 60 minutes. stingley did his job and did it well. when you're playing opponents the caliber of bama's wr's, even the best cb in the nation is going to lose some battles. the war is won by the team. stingley gave his team the chance to win by holding his own against the best of the best. no coach thinks his cb is going to lock down those wr's.

no he didn't. he got smoked badly the entire game. it was a major mismatch. he was clearly outclassed. stingley is not outclassed by anyone

Peterson and Casanova, with Homey Badger as the slot corner! The rest can be backups in case of injury.
