The Bama game hinges on LSU stopping the run.

I know I'm stating the obvious as it could be said for every SEC matchup, but it is even more important to stop the run when the opposing team has a QB like Milroe.
Bama can't beat LSU through the air because JM is not Bryce young. Hell, I'm not sure he's even Max Johnson.
Ole Miss rushed for 6.5 yards per rush against LSU. Missouri's 1st team RB averaged almost 9 yards per carry.
Yes, those examples are two of the best offenses in the SEC and Bama's offense isn't even in the same hemisphere, but Bama is physical, and because their QB is limited, they really want to run the ball.
IMO if LSU loses, it will be because they couldn't stop the run.

Milroe running is what scares me. We need Perkins on him 100% of the time

D needs to show up in general if we wanna win.
Stopping the run isn’t the only thing. We also need to get constant pressure on Milroe. If we don’t Burton and him will have a field day on our secondary.

If we stop that and don’t get beat over the top too many times: we win.
And if you notice, Arkansas was playing man. If we play Man, Perk has to be spying or they will scheme a hole in the secondary for him to burst through.

I think you guys are underestimating burton, he could do some serious damage to us

So you suggest we use Perkins to spy him on 100% of the snaps?
If that's what you want then you need to be ok with these facts.
1 - Perkins will not get sacks, or be able to pressure much at all.
2 - our DBs will be in one on one coverage all night. No help. OR...
3 - we will have to rush only 4 all game.
People will lose their minds, probably you included, if Perkins doesn't get sacks. I don't trust our DBs to cover anything, no matter who the QB is. The front 4 hasn't gotten much pressure on anybody all year.
Do you want to rethink what you said?

Kinda agree, but Bama is 11th in the SEC in yards per rush, with only 3.7 and 9th in total at 147/game. They just had a starting interior lineman hurt (that didn’t look good) and their line has been a huge question mark this year.
I agree they’ll WANT to run to try and shorten the game, but I think if we jump out quickly they’ll have to sink or swim on Milroe’s right arm and broken play scrambles. He’s not a great decision maker, so hopefully we don’t have busts on the back end that are TOO obvious for him to find.

Agreed.
LSU's DBs have been bad this season. What's made the defense terrible though is the bad DBs couple with a DL that has done virtually nothing all season. Smith, Wingo and Jones have been non-factors. Swinson, Jefferson and Guillory have had moments, but they play only 30% or so of the time. Just having a little bit of pressure from the front 4 would help the DBs. Sadly, LSU hasn't gotten it so all they have left is blitzing...which they haven't done much of.
Unless the DL plays their best game of the season I don't see any way Alabama doesn't score at least 30. I think LSU's offense is good enough to have a chance to overcome that, but the DB personnel is not suddenly going to get better in two weeks. Hell, it may be worse (or at least less experienced). So any chance of success LSU wants to have on defense has to hinge on the DL.

I think our DL bests their OL

The thing that most seem to forget is how bad our secondary has been at tackling...especially at safety.
I'm not piling on the secondary. Just stating the obvious.

Bama's left tackle is garbage. The C is an idiot. Kool Aid is the most overrated player in 'Murica. Stop worrying. Y'all sound like a bunch of old women.

Good we can finally give our DBs a week off and not have worry so much about covering receivers

I tend to agree which is why I think they will try to bracket him most the day.

Honestly, Army got a good push against our DL. If they had stuck to the straight ahead running game, I think they would have been better off. Their main running back averaged 5.1 yds/carry.
Let’s hope Bama isn’t too patient with their running game.

I trust Coach Pete to have the line ready. Bama cannot stop our offense. All we need is is for our defense to not give up easy points and make a few stops. Daniel’s takes care of the rest.

the gumps have a good running game. Milroe can run and make some long pass plays.

The Bama game hinges on LSU's offense
With the game on the line*:
Only twice has LSU punted 3 times, and LSU lost both of those games. Twice LSU has punted 2 times, and both of those games were nail-biters. The other 4 games, LSU has punted no more than once.
Either LSU overwhelms the Alabama defense, or Alabama wins.
*late punts with game decided are excluded

I think they estimate him correctly, his QB just doesn't hit passes shorter than 30 yards very consistently so if you stop the run and don't give up too many deep balls, you have a great shot to win.
I think Burton could have 175 yards and 2 touchdowns and we still win if we slow down their run and don't let Milroe kill us with his legs.

Wingo will be back and fresh. That helps A LOT.

Every highlight I see of him, he's breaking contain, and either ripping off a big run or throwing a bomb. We pressure him, that will happen a lot.
What we NEED to do is keep him in the pocket, and force them to run.
