Umps got it right. Neal should have waited for the ball to cross the plate. Take off your P&G glasses for once.

It wasn’t a balk. Catchers interference was the call

How many down votes are you looking for? He didn’t touch the plate nor was he in front of the plate when the ball was received. You are incorrect.

Oh man, you're so cool and edgy disagreeing with everyone except the umps

Catcher was never on or in front of the plate
Posted on 5/25/24 at 6:49 pm to Breauxfessor
Wrong. Neal is not allowed to be on, or in front of the plate without the ball. Show me where this happened. You can’t and neither can the SEC.

It sicks balls to have something like that play happen, but it was correct.

Someone here isn’t a real LSU fan.
Hint: It’s the OP.

Sure, but What about the rule where the batter can't leave the box mid pitch??

it's both a balk and catcher's interference
quote:
If, on an attempted squeeze play or steal of home plate, the catcher steps on
or in front of home plate without possession of the ball or touches the batter or the bat, the pitcher shall be charged with a balk and the catcher with interference

That’s completely incorrect on your part. Why wasn’t it called right away then?
Also, why wasn’t the very first infraction, the batter stepping out of the box called?

Go buy you a book “baseball for dummies”.. you’re in dire need… that or stick to Tee ball…

What about the batter stepping out of the box during the pitch.

You people are so fricking hard headed.
You have no idea what you are talking about but you make statements like they are fact.
You obviously don't even know the fricking rule you so matter of factly dispute.

You’re an obvious paid shill for the SEC home office. What a sad job to have.

Another one of these? Jesus, no, it was NOT the correct call. It has been diagnosed and broken down. The umpires correctly followed the rule penalty, but the rule itself was not broken.

Well, since Neal didn’t touch the plate or step in front of it, thanks for proving us right.
