He’s on the list for clickbait. At least they put him #10.
He hasn’t proven anything.
All that being said, he’s 6’4, 220, fairly athletic, comes from a long line of QBs and plays for a loaded team with a weak schedule. So while I roll my eyes at him being ranked top 10 now, no one will be shocked if he earns it this year.

Mtntiger, you misspelled if he can make teams respect his legs

He played pretty well against south carolina last year.

Klubnik is another Allar. Dog shite against ranked teams.

Don't see Simpson anywhere on this list....and yet everyone is still fawning over Alascama....

Do we have proof that Nuss is good against ranked teams?

I had no idea who Hoover even was...

Its crazy the hype Mateer is getting. I heard Greg McElroy and Chris Doering last week both say he will win the Heisman and have a Tebow type year in the SEC.
OU fans are already saying he looks better than Baker in practice

That looks like a reasonable assessment, though I am not sure Klubnik has proven any more than Nuss.
Engagement bait to get as many eyeballs on this game as possible.
Standard late off-season slop

Someone posted a stat recently that showed Nuss had the fewest sacks after being pressured than any QB in the SEC (maybe the country; I don't remember which).
If he runs once or twice a game, OK, but he moves just fine in the pocket.

At least they put Manning at 10

Yet, Manning will win the Heisman because of his last name. LOL!

I thought Arch already won the Heisman

I definitely think the Baylor QB should be top 10 .

quote:Devon Dampier will be the guy that some deeper in the weeds fans like myself know, but the country doesn't really know him. He's been lighting it up at the group of 5 level last year and is going to Utah. He needs to improve his passing, but his rushing is crazy. Over 7.5 yards per carry with 1200 rush yard and 19 TDs in 2024.
Who will be the "out of nowhere" qb to breakout
Another one that is kinda sorta out of nowhere to most, but college football junkies will know him, Demond Williams Jr at Washington. He is another playmaker, and he played in spurts last year because Will Rogers was hurt. His last 4 games were;
Penn St 6/10 60 yards, 38 rush yards
UCLA 7/8 67 yards 1 TD, 31 rush yards
Oregon 17/20 200 yards 1 TD
Louisville 26/32 374 yards 4 TD 1 int, 48 rush yards 1 TD
As a freshman last year, although only 105 attempts, he completed 78% of them (8 TD 1 int, 280 rush yards 4 TD).
My final "out of nowhere" guy is Beau Pribula at Mizzou. I saw this guy as a backup at Penn St, and he is a fun dual threat guy. He reminded me a bit of Vandy's QB Deigo Pavia.

Great post. I knew about Williams. He reminds me of Russell Wilson. 5'11" tall. 1 int is impressive.
We'll see what Dampier does. He throws as many td's as int's. Can he make the jump ?
My picks are Kevin Jennings at SMU and also Fernando Mendoza. Mendoza has NFL size. If he has a big season, he is going to get NFL scouts buzzing.

As far as Mendoza, I thought about putting him on here over Dampier. However, i don't know if he could be considered "out of nowhere". Kid finished 10th in the country in pass yards per game. I know many don't know him, but anybody that pays attention to draft stuff does. Also, I'm weary of Indiana actually repeating again. I just don't see it. I think Mendoza can get himself into first round talks though.
