I’ve seen it in threads, so just to make it clear

If he stays.. proves he can tackle.. proves he can be not just a corner, but a reliable defensive stopper..work on interview skills etc.. he goes top10-15. Everyone and their mom knew this defensive class would be loaded with defensive linemen early

He got roughly 6 million
If he was the 10th pick...18 million
If he was the 15th pick...15 million

So yea he got 6 million.. which is a shite ton of money. But if he waits ONE year.. he has the potential to make 15-18 million... so staying that one year would be a 9-12 million dollar decision.
There is also the chance he gets hurt etc. so while I do not blame him for wanting to leave and make some money.. I think you roll the dice for a chance to get paid big time as a first rounder.

Also, I’m jumping on the browns bandwagon

In 5 years it will not matter a lot if he lives up to his potential.

I'm gonna watch the Browns this year, for sure.

Yes, we were told that LSU CB Greedy Williams was a top 10 first round pick in the NFL Draft because of his abilities locking down wide receivers. But since learned from an x-Pro Football player talking on the NFL channel broadcasting the Pro Draft that Greedy Williams was not a hitter, or even shy away from making a hard tackle. So that was the reason Greedy slide into where he was the Cleveland Brown pick in the second round.

He had to have known this before he declared. There’s no way he’s a top10 pick and then all of the sudden he falls to 46 or wherever it was, and 6 guys taken ahead of him. Somewhere along the lines, he made some bad decisions

That’s so easy to say when it’s not you rolling the dice. Maybe he didn’t like college and was ready to move on.

Maybe Greedy is a grown man and can do what he feels he needs to do for his family.... Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow, much less next year.

Is it true his buddy/agent didn’t schedule any interviews and he met with zero teams pre draft?

Big assumption that likely is not true

Why would he change?

Why would our coaches change him?

LSU Greedy is what he is

Read this and ask yourself, “why wouldn’t you go pro?”

Every prospect comes from a different background. He did what he felt was best for he and his family. I’ll always pull for him

Of course people said he’d go in that range THIS year as recently as December.

potential = maybe he could also play for free another year and still wind up with 6-8M you don’t know

To risk adjust this situation, as he did, one would have to walk in his shoes; and we can't do that.

He made a courageous decision and I admire and pray for him and his family.

Greedy’s gonna be fine. Stop acting like being drafted, at all, is a failure.

You're assuming way too much here.

In addition to possible injury, you're assuming that he doesnt lose spot light maybe even some playing time with Stingley in and all the rest continuing to improve. Next year is going to be like 2011 in the secondary. We will have people getting drafted that aren't starters...

I'm not saying that Greedy isnt great, but rather that LSUs secondary will be insanely stacked. Very good chance Fulton goes first 2 rounds next year and then what do you do with Stingley?

You said it. Also. Every time the camera hit the kid during the draft he threw up the L. No doubt he loves LSU. He made the best choice for him and his family in the end.

What if he can’t tackle? Then he’s just got another year of tape showing it. He rarely gets thrown at anyway, so really, what does staying gain him? MAYBE he goes higher?

It's an after-the-fact argument. Everyone thought he was a top 15 pick when he declared.

He should not have come back. He got a high first-round grade. After he declared and hired an agent he started to drop. It's too late to undo the decision at that point.

Yes it sucks Greedy lost out on more money because scouts started nitpicking film for anything wrong. The reality is he had more tackles last year for LSU than any other CB and they threw his way far less times. He also had two tackling machines on the field with him gobbling up most opportunities (White and Delpit).

Bottom line, Greedy made the right decision to leave when he did. No one thought otherwise. It just didn't work out as the entire world thought it would and his consolation prize is around a $6M contract on a team that is on the rise.

That was just another of many Rantard myths.

Greedy signed with Keyshawn Johnson's First Pick Sports agency.
