LSU needs to slide its chair a little closer to the table

This is it in a nutshell. Our AD is too timid to step up and make the demands that Bama makes. He is content to be in second place. What he says and what he does are two different things. Now on the other hand when we talk about politics- the politics of the Board at LSU may very well be tethering us and the AD to to a non aggressive policy.

In the end I would rather be LSU than any other team-

I don't want to see us leave the SEC, but I do want our administration to do whatever they have to do to get LSU a fair shake.

I agree with all of this, but I think what is driving it is the way they screwed over LSU with the 2012 and 2013 schedules. There was no legit reason for the changes that were made. On top of this the time has come for a complete rotation in the schedule and doing away with permanents. Yeah some traditional games won't be played every single year. So freaking what, if you want to make progress you have to accept changes along the way. Personally I think it would make the historic match ups even more special because they won't be played as often and it will give the fan bases more to look forward too. It seems like LSU is always the one being asked / forced to make concessions for the betterment of the conference. I ask this one question when has Bama/Auburn/Georgia took one for the conference? Why is LSU forced into 5/6 spot in the bowl pecking order when they finished higher and are ranked higher than other conference members who were granted higher bowls?

Sure, let's leave the nations strongest conference for a conference that was an OU defection away from total collapse just last year.

Leaving the SEC is a terrible idea, and this article sends the wrong message to the rest of the SEC, which will be quick to label us as a bunch of whiny wusses. Thanks, Rabalais.

What LSU does need to do is stand up for itself when the league shafts them. All we do is just take it in the arse from the Bama centric SEC front office while we're told everything is fine. Everything is not fine, and the SEC needs to hear it from an AD who is as sick of this shite as the fan base is. Wish we would actually have an AD with a nut sack.

Well, talk like this is what is necessary for your voice to be heard.

Bama gets everybody's bye week.

Everybody hears about it.

Rule changes are made almost instantly.

Iron Bowl slotted for Fridays.

Saban doesn't like it.

Back to Saturday.

Those that wish to laugh this off and point fingers at the whiny bitches are ignorant.

They're just happy to be included, satisfied with any level of success, and closed minded.

LSU to the Big XII is nothing more than Miles to Arkansas.

These things can serve a purpose.

A move like this is a viable one.

LSU's administration is perfectly aware that LSU has been slighted, but their view is one from a business perspective. And business is good.

It's going to take significant discussion from the LSU financial family to affect any change.

Another hidden accommodation for Bama on that last drive. The big 1st down play the beginning of the drive should have been called back because of holding. Bamas left tackle closed lined Montgomery before he could get to Macarrome. Then on the scoring play 2 of our guys were being held and it was in sight of the refs behind Macarrome. I guess the refs were just enjoying the beautiful execution of a perfect team.

I doubt Rabalais actually thinks LSU needs to leave LSU.

An extreme article like this is probably meant to just stir the pot and lead to discussion about how fricked up the SEC is. Not too effective publishing this kind of article on Christmas day though. It isn't going to get much twitter love or anything from the national CFB media

LSU was one game away from being the most dominant team in college football last year, and we had a very tough schedule last year, lined up, and played great. Don't be scared of the competition.

It is not about competition. It is about LSU continually getting shite on by the Slives in Birmingham.

While the SEC is favoring Bama in scheduling and officiating, LSUs leadership (both President and Athletics Director) are allowing it to happen without care. LSU administration should remind SEC leadership what LSU has brought to the conference and leverage LSUs position within the SEC. Until LSU leadership steps up Bama will continue getting favorable treatment.

They both have our interest at heart, but what are they supposed to do when they are outnumbered?

The bowl alignment this year just didn't favor LSU when looking at the bigger picture which is the whole conference. I like the bowl matchups the SEC has overall

It's not just this year. SEC has consistantly favored Bama since the Bear Bryant days. Bryant not only intimidated the SEC, but kept Birmingham from getting a NFL franchise, and generally influenced all southern sports activities.

Scott must live in a closet. Sure LSU has some issues with the SEC. However if he thinks the big twelve is better just ask aTm. Tx runs that conference for Tx's best interest only. Tx keeps the lions share of revenue and has a huge one sided tv deal with ESPN.
LSU gets disrespected by the SEC occasionally, but Tx would regularly sodomize us.
