The bowl alignment this year just didn't favor LSU when looking at the bigger picture which is the whole conference. I like the bowl matchups the SEC has overall.. Nut up and quit whining.
They said the same shite in 2005. Merry freakin Christmas- GEAUX to Atlanta .
Screw Joe Alleva.

The 2012 and 2013 schedules are HEAVILY slanted in Alabama's favor. Theses schedules aren't "rotated", or luck of the draw. The original 2012 schedule had Bama playing at A&M for their first ever SEC game. Bama didn't want it, so they moved the game to Tuscaloosa later in the year. The SEC office also knows that Tennessee and Kentucky both suck, and that Florida and Georgia are both very good, yet they have no problem giving Bama a yellow brick road to the SECCG, while LSU has to face the toughest road possible.
I'm sure this Rabalais article is the start of an LSU campaign to alert the national media to the special treatment granted to Bama in this conference. Nothing will change until the national media starts to question what is going on down here.
Just wait until the SEC forces LSU to take part in A&M's Thanksgiving Night tradition.

What a bunch of fricking nonsense.
Just playing mind games with the SEC home office. Would not be surprised if LSU spoon fed the whole article to him. I like the mind game aspect of this. The Rant has bitched about this, the radio pundits have bitched about this, and the fans have done likewise - it is about time LSU rattled the SEC's cage!
Remember when Oklahoma threatened to move out of the Big12 and they got the conference puppet president fired and revenue sharing installed. I dont think LSU would get anything like that unless some other teams started joining in the debate. Think if UGA, USCe, UF, and LSU threatened to go join the ACC...

The easiest quickest fix to the Ten/Bama and Aub/Ga permanent opponent thing is put the all in East.

I agree, its time to send a message and bolt. Article was dead on. We will always be a power and leaving would not hurt recruiting one bit. Texas and LSU in the same conference will be a rivalry of epic proportions. Teams will eventually see the disservice the SEC is doing and would want to bolt as well. Its time we take a stand.

The thing that bothers me most about this issue is that, at best, the SEC is tone deaf to it. At worst, they play favorites knowingly.
This issue is NOT new.
If Slive et al cared about the favoritism issue, it would bend over backwards to avoid all APPEARANCES of bias. The scheduling gift to the home town team would have been rejected for that reason alone.
However, the conference can play favorites AND prosper, because it makes so much money no one is prepared to make them address the dirty laundry.
Plus, Ala. is not the only team that benefits, so LSU has trouble getting the votes to reform the Birmingham Biases.

They do frick us at every turn and I refuse to believe the office in Birmingham isn't bias as could be. Don't give a F what anybody says. The office is in the midst of Alabama and LSU doesn't ever get many breaks. I rather be somewhere where we're valued and respected as a top 5 earner in all of College Football.

You act like we went undefeated and got screwed...
No. We did what many other teams in the SEC accomplished this year, a 10-2 record.

So LSU will leave the strongest and best conference to play in an inferior conference?
LSU is one of the strongest teams in America. Period.
Alabama has shown success only recently and if history proves anything that trend will decline in time.
No way LSU gets some of the talent it has moving to an inferior conference playing inferior opponents.
It's like ULL dominated their conference and then proclaiming themselves one of the best teams in the nation..it just doesn't work.

The purpose of this article is to generate reader interest, not to be an honest assessment of LSU's relationship with the SEC. You would have to be totally naive to take this article seriously.
The most desirable time to leave the SEC would obviously not be now. Not during an era when the SEC is generating the most revenue for each school in its history, and when it is universally acclaimed as the premiere college football conference.
LSU is positioned now to take advantage of the SEC’s prestige in college football more than at any time in the history of LSU or the SEC. If you want to throw that away, then yes this is the perfect time to leave the SEC.

First of all Chavis had a melt down in the closing minutes of the Bama game. We gave bama the game. Also our athletic director SUCKS. His job is to stand up for Lsu instead of acting like a little girl. Until he is replaced don't expect Lsu to get any breaks.

quote:Oh goodie! We can move from the Bama Shadow to the Texas Longhorn Shade. Brilliant idea... but no, I don't think so. I do think it might help, though, for Joe Alleva to grow a couple of big ones and a chest, and do some real hard-ball standing up for LSU's interests in the courts of the SEC - and if necessary, the court of national opinion.
The time has come.
