The o line was terrible last night. No matter who was calling plays it wasn’t going to matter.

If the whole offense returns we may have a chance to put out a quality offense in 2019. Key word is MAY.

We might as well let Ensminger have a second year to have his offense fully installed. We're not beating Bama next year with Tua anyway.

Ensminger could never ever coordinate an offense that can compete with sabam never ever.

I'm not averse to it either, but the OP is dead on, our Oline is terrible and has been all year. Not their fault, and we all knew they were at best a mystery. They're young and not very good. They are by far the team's worst unit.

#1 fact is the OC not doing his job. I dont have excess to films of Alabama but I could tell halfway thru first quarter that you cant play action against them. Their 3 down linemen dont bite and it gives them 2 more steps to the quarterback, by the time he turns around they are half way there. Put him in shotgun back him up 5 steps and use their speed against them to side step.

Make them run farther to get to Qb, also creates more space for screens and gives receivers more time to make cuts.

Except the defense isn't the problem. LSU beat itself last night starting at the first LSU offensive snap of the game. I am not saying we would have won, but if you think Tua is the reason we lost last night you're just wrong.

Why give a guy who can't put up a single point against the team that decides our fate every year another season? Tua didn't win that game (yeah he put up points I get that). LSU's offensive play and planning lost that game. That falls on Ensminger and O. Canada did better than Ensminger yet for some reason people keep trying to perpetuate this idea that Canada is horrible and E just needs more time.

True, but we have to bring in much better OL recruits next year or else this will be repeated often.

So, do you want to consistently beat Alabama, or just score on them?

I seem to be confused...

I agree. hell, we've looked damn good in several games this year. it is the OL that is our achilles heel as they were the main cause in both of our losses. next year they should be bigger and stronger and hopefully, our tackles have better footwork.

We were told by O he was going to hire the best. Ensminger is a really good dude but he is not the best OC he’s reliable but not close to the top coordinators we could or should get. IMO

If this was just a scholarship program with guys having fun playing football and not keeping score, let E stay. But if we want to compete and win in football he has got to go.

When your offensive line struggles against Southeastern and LaTech no matter starters or back ups at a power 5 school you have issues. :banghead:

I fully agree with the feeling that the O-Line is the biggest problem on offense. However I have serious questions regarding whether it will get better. My concern is the lack of athleticism on the both the O-line & the D-line. When I compare LSU's line to the other top programs, I see a group of players who are overweight, slow and not agile. This is a conditioning problem and it needs urgent attention.
LSU has had trouble for several years on both sides of the ball with teams who have been smaller and quicker. To me there are very few tackles over 300 ibs. who can handle these speed rush guys off the corner. LSU must work on conditioning the guys already here and start recruiting better tackles. We have a house full of guards and no real centers or tackles.

If Steve Ensminger is the OC we have a pretty good chance to put out another Les Miles Offense and may have a 10% chance of scoring on Bama
