How bout just trusting what I said in the OP. This LSU team was mentally drained after the SEC Tourny. Let's just survive and play10X better in the Supers.

i know you've watched enough baseball to know that teams have shitty games....good teams win those shitty games anyways.

no need to start a thread about it and thanking the wins on the weakest regional "ever"

we just won the SEC tourny for Christ's sake

I think there's two sides to this.

1) We have not played well. No one here can deny that. We have come out flat in both games in areas that we are used to being solid in: defense and pitching (game 1). It can be blamed on the SECT, or the injuries, or Glenn. But any one of those can be blamed for this team's lack of focus which is what I think it comes down to. Focus.

2) We've pulled out the wins. And I think that means something too. We had all sorts of shite go against us: unlucky calls, more injured players, timely weather delays. But we have overcome them with some gutsy and clutch play, and championship teams find a way when things aren't at 100%.

You must be new here. Wins are not enjoyed on The Rant.

LSU is going to play much better next weekend. At least the bats woke up.

I guess you just have to bitch. I'm good with making it through the regional 3-0.

So after pulling out the win in the winners bracket, the first thought is we suck at baseball?

Please post where the OP claimed we "suck". In fact, he stated otherwise.

ETA: I think every poster is just on edge after the last two days. If we get Glenn back, we are Omaha bound.

Man, we must really be good to be playing like hot garbage and still be 2-0 in our regional

So when Miles and team are 2-0 and barely winning that will be ok right?

Yes, sometimes teams have bad games, but we threw up two stinkers in a row. Great teams find a way to win, and this team is great, but this team is sleepwalking for the first two games. Most of the time you throw up stinkers in midweek games during SEC play, not in the post season.

Survive and advance.

I don't necessarily disagree. And most would admit this 2-0 start in the regionals was some shitty baseball by the Tigers. Enough to win, but not quality.

That said, what's your point? Thank the NCAA or 1) make Mainieri change his strategy, 2) hire a new coach with a different strategy, 3) Unretire Skip.

Seriously?

We played some subpar baseball and are setup perfectly to win the regional and move on. You don't think the 5 errors today is going to be a wakeup call?

Anyway...

You can do 4 things in a game:

A) play well and win
B) play poorly and win
C) play well and lose
D) play poorly and lose

What has LSU done for the last two games?

Just sayin.

Here's to better days ahead.

I want A, but will settle for B - easily.

The Regional isn't over. But we all agree if this play continues the potential of this team will not be met.

We're definitely playing less than impressive, but hot garbage is pushing it. At least we're still winning.

It's not a hangover. This is the NCAA fricking tournament and the game has changed and teams are better. LSU had 5 errors yet still came back from 5-1 to win. That is huge!

Sloppy, unfocused play.

Lets win this regional and regroup and get focused for the Supers.

Personally I think a lot of it has to do with the glen situation hangover, combined with playing inferior opponents.

We have not been ready to play this weekend for sure this far. Maybe the "championship" will finally get our attention tomorrow night.

I think SEC tourney has ZERO to do with the these two performances. I think it has more to do with us thinking we could sleepwalk through these first two games. (And, in a way, we did). I actually think playing ULL will finally get our focus back.
