That's what Jayden Daniels should be saying.
If defense wasn't so bad, offense would not have been wide open every game. Now he is winning all kinds of awards.
Thank you Defense

You didn’t even make it to first base with this crap. In fact, you just struck out.

You are not wrong.

With a very strong defense we don’t need to score that many points.

bullshite. We would have just beat everyone by 21-28 points like we did in 2019.

If the defense could get off the field, he would have put up even more yards/TDs… but he was on the bench too much

That's an interesting take but I'm taking another route.

On the season lost the Time of Possession battle by 26 minutes. Yes, that includes Grambling, Georgia State, Army and we crushed Miss State in top.

Our Defense was horribly bad.

If I was Jayden, I'd start with "If our defense could stop someone, I would've had 2000 yards rushing and 100 passing TDs."

Time of Possession by game.

Opponent LSU
9/3 FSU 35 24
9/9 Gram 26 33
9/16 MSU 21 38
9/23 Ark 34 25
9/30 OM 30 29
10/7 Missouri 27 32
10/14 Aub 25 34
10/21 Army 31 28
11/4 Ala 33 26
11/11 Fla 34 25
11/18 Georg St 35 24
11/25 TAMU 36 23
367 341

We would be in the playoffs if it weren't for the "defense". No championship this year. Shut up.

Dumb post is dumb. They would’ve won a national championship if the defense was in the top 50.

Your logic does not make sense. If our defense were better, the offense would have been on the field more.

When opponents score in 3 seconds instead of being slowed for long drives the offense gets more opportunities not less.

If LSU defense got other offenses 3-and-outs every time, Daniels would have scored more points and probably be playing in the CFP now.

There is a valid point in there somewhere but mostly it’s just taking a swipe at both the defensive squad and JD5. It’s just as likely the offense would have been just as dynamic if we weren’t having to score. At one period we were 13 TDs out of 15 possessions. In a couple of games we scored a TD on every possession. And in those games we didn’t need to score every time to win.

The only good thing is that we are bad but can be good if forced to be. Nah.

FSU, Alabama, and Texas A&M had long methodical drives keeping the ball away from our offense most of the duration of those games. So your take is wrong.

With a less than horrible defense, JD5 would have had more opportunities to score AND we would be in the playoffs.. terrible take

Explosive plays would have a negative impact on TOP. See FLA for example. Plus Georgia State, Army. The explosiveness of the offense also meant that the possessions were like 3 minutes or less to score.

Except that didn’t happen very much. Most times it was a time consuming drive where we gave up multiple 3rd and longs to continue drives.
