The point is, for the last four years, we've played in them and been irrelevant nationally during bowl season.

The main reason Tech looked so bad is because a poor run defense was facing a very good offensive line. They would have looked very bad if Guice or Williams had been the back. Hell, they would have looked bad if Tech's fourth string back had gotten the LSU carries.
Fournett made it worse, but backs don't do anything "almost by themselves". If that was the case Fournette would have just run roughshod over Bama.

If someone asked me who we played in a bowl last year it might have taken some time to remember. Their quarterback was great, their defense was shite. Good game.
