No doubt. The large LSU alumni base in Dallas will help balance out the stadium somewhat, but just as LSU knows how to find the tickets for the Sugar Bowl, A&M will secure most of the tickets for the Cotton Bowl.

considering teams are announced at the same time for BCS games, that is a pretty bad comparison

and Stu, a Big 12 bowl game????? really? bowl games don't belong to a specific conference. if anything, it's equally a big 12 and SEC bowl game because of the conference alignments. if it was strictly a Big 12 games, as you so claim, then they could invite whomever the hell they wanted from whichever conference they desired.

welcome to texas. they screwed us and are probably laughing about it. inviting a&m a week early was a sure sign we are going to get hosed by the cotton bowl. no telling what else happens. i sure hope we don't get big 12 refs

not really. we've had the benefit of home field for FOUR BCS games, 2 of which were national championships. And with it being in New Orleans people have much more access to those extra tickets the Sugar Bowl Committee is privileged to.

I don't really feel sorry for people for not being able to park their RVs next door to the stadium when they could have bought passes last week but I guess that's LSU fans as usual... find something to bitch about.

yes

you think the Sugar Bowl is not an SEC-centric bowl?

The Cotton Bowl has it's entire history wrapped up in the SWC/BIG12 - what makes you think that they are not 110% aligned with the conference?

I dont understand one iota why you or anyone else thinks that ticket allocation or timing has to be "fair?"

it's equally

wrong - it's not "equal"

no, they have an agreement to match up a Big12 to an SEC. but one conference will clearly be favored, as it should - it's their damn bowl game, this doesnt fall underneath the jurisdiction of the NCAA

correct. that is how the system works, but we shouldnt apologize for living near the location of a BCS bowl.

this is a very valid point

so people should have bought tickets on a hunch that we were going to the cotton bowl when the aggies KNEw they were making the trip. I seem to remember pepole trying this for the Rose Bowl a few seasons ago. As I recall, that didn't work out so well.

A parking pass that can easily be sold to a Gump is a lot different than an airline ticket considering I doubt Gumps would fly out of New Orleans...

I'm just sick of LSU fans bitching about everything from the Capital One showing us disrespect (bullshite) to Mettenberger not committing with :30 left in his game yesterday to fricking parking passes now.

We have a good bowl game, we have a talented QB coming in that might have unfricked us for 3 years... just get on ebay or scrape up a pass from somewhere.

yes, because it has the SEC tie-in as it's only tie-in when the national championship is not involved. Cotton is Big 12-SEC, so I'm not seeing your point at all.

then why doesn't the SEC do the same with Cap One, Outback, Chik-Fil-A, Independence, etc.?

The Cotton COULDN'T pick early because of the different variables... What if South Carolina won? Everything would have been shaken up.

So has anyone had any luck finding an RV pass?

We need to get a bunch of LSU RV fans to go together and rent an entire lot somewhere close as possible. Surely we could find some kind of place with a large empty lot looking to make some money - like Six Flags. I'm in if someone wants to put it together. They do it with the casino in BR for Bama and Florida fans.

The Cotton Bowl is not a Big 12 bowl that simply invites an SEC team... not anymore than the Capital One Bowl is an SEC bowl game that simply invites a Big Ten team.

WTH are you talking about?

I have no problem with us being heavily outnumbered in Dallas. When LSU travels and is outnumbered, we are LOUD! We were heavily outnumbered by TN fans in the 2001 SECCG, yet were significantly louder than them.

All you need to do is go to the TEXAS RANGERS website and buy a rv pass from them. It's just across the street from jones house and that way you'll be around LSU fans. Rangers lot is no further than TV.

1. I agree in principle that the teams should be announced at the same time, but Stu brings up a good point. If A&M ever makes it to another Sugar Bowl, I'm sure I'll be on TD asking for help with tickets, and I'm sure I'd get more help if LSU wasn't playing in that bowl.

2. I make my personal promise to you that it won't be BigXII refs. I'll see to that myself.

3. I'm not happy with the cotton bowl allotment system either. Most of the non-school allotment tickets were already bought and on the scalper market before most of us knew where we were going.

4. As someone else suggested, there are other lots in the area that you should look into for tailgating and RVing. I don't know Arlington, so I can't offer any advice, but I believe there are other large private parking lots within walking distance.

5. EKG, don't give other boards links to our ticket exchange; at least make them find it on their own since a lot of us are in the same situation scrambling for tickets and passes.
