Punting on this year would have Schmidt capped at 80 pitches.

That's true too, I was going more from the standpoint of him letting it be a learning experience for Schmidt.

The overlooked impact of the shift is it’s a morale killer when the hitter bleeds one right where an infielder would traditionally set up.

What? No.

He absolutely fricked him on an out for the no swing call. He had at least one terrible ball call in a AB that ended in a 3-2 walk. That's enough.

He couldn’t get the job done. Why do you feel bad for him?

If we play for the double play, we probably get at least 1 out there

Benge made his pitch. Coaching staff had the shift on. Benge gets pulled.

Zero feel in this game.

I don’t recall a team that has been so snake bitten. It seems luck rarely comes their way.

through 5 innings LSU had a whopping THREE hits..............you are not winning in the SEC hitting like that. Much less winning when the team can't do much to play competitive baseball.

Great call Jay leaving Schmidt in to walk the bases loaded in the 6th while he’s already over 100 pitches. He can cry all he wants about botching the transfer portal but he ain’t helping them win by these horrible decisions in all these games he’s made.

All last night a&m hit the ball the opposite way and used the back half of the plate, doing it again today and yet we still shifting defensively to pull. I do not get it. Jay himself said a&m did a great job of hitting opposite field.

They know what a&m is doing yet they put the fielders out of position over and over. So frustrating
