It wasn't the best throw to 1st but it was the third out you go for it. Tre had a chance at home never setup to make an accurate throw and air mailed it.

I can’t even really blame Thompson for the throw. That’s about as tough of a throw as a shortstop can make. Morgan has to abandon the bag on a throw that far off.
I understand the urge to do everything you can to get the out but you have to cut your losses there.
