We are losing this one.

Surely looks like they don't care. I think winning 2 and the series brings lackadaisical play. Tennessee's pitcher is only averaging 11 pitches per inning. When you swing at a lot of pitches early in the count without much success the pitcher cruises. He's going the distance unless we can start hitting in the 8th.

When we aren't swinging at first pitches, he's throwing strikes. Exactly what happened in Slaughter's last AB. He looked at the first 2, both called strikes. Pitchers that fill up the strike zone and pitch to contact generally don;t have high pitch counts. This kid has already thrown 3 or 4 complete games this season. He has 55 strikes in 77 pitches. Hard to work a pitch count when the guy pitching doesn't throw balls

This whole series we have been aggressive at the plate, and it has worked really well for us.

We pulled a pitcher who has not thrown more than 30 pitches all season

Then why waste our former Saturday starter with a massive lead yesterday? The bottom of the bullpen could have finished that one.

we had a 3 run lead when he came in yesterday. Gilbert was actually credited with a save.

Correct me if I’m wrong but hasn’t Bush struggled his last couple outings?

C'mon man. He made a nice play and then made a bad throw. It happens. Should he have held on to it? Probably, but he was trying to make a play.

Seems clear that he wanted to try someone else in the starter role.

a sweep would have been a huge boost for us an put us in good position for post season hopes. I know series wins is more important than individual gmaes right now, but if we end up on the bubble having 12 SEC wins instead of 11 could make a huge difference.

walked 2 against Tech but didn't give up any runs. Didn't pitch at all in the A&M series, only pitched one inning in the state series as well, walking one and giving up no runs.

I know. I saw it. But they were actually getting hits. When you are aggressive and swing at bad pitches and make outs it may not work as well.
