I get it. But there's no way to know when/ if you will even need Ack. There's so many pitchers you can use situationally next week. You could save him for next week and he may come in and be completely ineffective next week anyway. What you do know is he is dealing right now.
. I know the conference Championship is nothing compared to the national, but it is something and it's right in front of you, and he's dealing. I'm not saying go 100 pictures but man let him get you through at least five if he's dominant today.

That was such a ridiculous series of events.

He's an important arm to this team though. They weren't going to risk him by extending him too much in this game. Keep in mind Ack got hurt pitching earlier this season.
People will say well they are always at risk for injury which is true, but at this point in the season right before the most important weekend they aren't going to add any extra risk, IMO.
I still would have preferred they let him finish the inning if possible.

Ok guys...it sucks that TN just hit a 3 run bomb...
But Ack was at nearly 50 pitches coming off 2 days rest. The initial plan was to pull him at 40. Pulling him is absolutely not a WRONG move. He's ready to go for regionals which is more important than this game.
Ulloa is allowed to shoulder some of the blame for allowing 3 runs when he only needed one out. It doesn't have to be Johnson. Pretty sure we all came in to this expecting to need a whole bunch of runs to win. We were never winning this game 1-0
