I feel like since LSU is an A&M school, the ag center uses that course as a test subject and for students to study for their ag degrees

The great spender of other peoples money. Write a check and start the campaign. Better have more than 2 zero's behind it.

Revitalize the area besides shitty strip centers. Create economic boom. LSU raises money and builds stadiums. Ground lease out the remaining lots to be restaurant, hotels, off campus student housing, and etc. This way LSU could have final approval over the use instead of section 8 housing everywhere. it’s very extreme, but Louisiana will continue to flounder due to conventional thinking. Create reasons for young people to stay in the city/state, create reasons for companies to open offices in the area, and make the city more enjoyable for visitors during not just the fall.
The entire southeast is booming. Yet, Louisiana is with the ranks of New York and California on top population decline.
These are all just pipe dreams and graduates will continue to flock to Houston and Dallas.

Most golf teams are setting up facilities at a host course.

Football's is much larger and was never built to be connected. The men's locker room and women's (I think) are in the practice facility. The practice facility itself already needs upgrades so maybe they do build a new one but I doubt it

Where does the new golf course go?

Hell no. LSU golf course is iconic

I can confirm that the LSU golf course will be torn down in a few years.
I feel like that writing has been on the wall for a while. They have really let it go from a maintenance standpoint.

It's impossible to tear down a golf course

Do what a lot of schools do, and put it on a pro quality course and build a new clubhouse on it.
UT Austin comes to mind. It’s way off campus

The ROI would be a massive net negative. There's no land in BR viable for it to justify any cost.
Central and LP have the land to do it but they're overpriced. Also far away from the "enhancement for the student body and public in general" you're dreaming of. It just doesn't make financial sense when U Club is offering it already.

The writing on the wall has been there. A lot of moving parts because of Kim Mulkey entering the fold had to get adjusted now that WBB won a title. It's likely track and swimming get their buildings finished. Then you have basketball/volleyball/gym figuring stuff out.
Minor league hockey coming back presents new challenges. They will have schedules to work with when the PMAC is eventually destroyed. I just read the River Center is getting $3 million for renovations, so hopefully they spurs more local economy $$$ and continues to upgrade the building so we can eventually have LSU events shifted there for temporary.

Why is LSU responsible for the economic growth of BR/LA?

Yes generating jobs, improving property values, and spurring economic growth is a net negative definitely. Creating a work play live environment is the future of cities. A walkable entertainment district that benefits the city, university, and tourists would be horrible for everyone. Baton Rouge needs to stand out instead of being last…a minor league hockey team will be out of here in 10 years. LSU sports will be here forever. Just makes too much sense to create a new district like the sort with money lsu sports is set to bring in. Not many chances come to have a completely open canvas like this with the golf course

I agree with this. Baton Rouge needs to act as a satellite of LSU that just happens to be the capital

Because it is the best catalyst to do so

The government would be wise to funnel a lot of dollars to LSU for expansion. Increase the funding of LSU police and expand it. This is needed to keep the barbarians at bay as they expand. Tear down the golf course and rebuild with a world class course. Plenty of golfers in the area to keep it running and bringing a PGA event to the city could be an option. Plenty of neighborhoods that could be bulldozed and used for projects like this. The people that live there can fick right off as they are contributing to the reason that real estate could be bought at a decent price.

Zero chance for a new Baseball stadium. Upgrades are certain. UF plays in a 4K seat stadium, with grass berms past 1st and 3rd.
