Mac rattling off 12 wins didn't help him at all. After some reflection, I'm embracing the complete and total collapse of LSU hoops. It'll get better one day - I guess.
Bring on the L's. We've already lost to A&M and Bama, spectacularly. Who cares anymore?

Basketball is definitely not a big enough deal at LSU to warrant a “Civil War”. It’s just not- we have never been a perennial, consistent powerhouse and regardless of what anyone thinks ole Slick Willy would have never gotten us there. He elevated the program, but he certainly was never going to be this great X’s and O’s coach.
Basketball has been much more of a “bridge sport” to fill in the calendar before baseball season. Football and baseball are LSU’s mens sports, always will be.

Will Wade, will not coach at LSU again.

Heaven help us! You're perverting scripture (Matthew 12:25).
Our Lord and Saviour doesn't care about LSU basketball, or the PMAC. Get a grip!

It would not surprise me in the least if he shows up in the SEC. Somewhere he could start quietly and build a behemoth.

A battle will be had to remove Dale Brown's name from the court.

Taking the general. The American gangster.

There is no “Wade army”. Wade’s not even a thing anymore. Like it or not he’s just a memory and anyone else that is still crying for him should go cheer for someone else because they are not an LSU fan.

General Wade for me!!!!
frick LSU basketball for getting rid of him!!!! They should have rode it out, it would have went away, especially now the way players are getting big money..
frick dickie Vagina
frick the NCAA trying to pretend they still have control of anything
And frick LSU for caving to the pressure

I care less about Wade vs McMahon but Dale Brown getting a court named after him is a fricking joke.

‘Ridden’. ‘Gone’. Hard to take anything you say seriously.

Most fans care a lot more about winning than who is the coach. I am one of them. It is the loud minority of fans (many post on the boards) who want to bring up the Wade v. McMahon stuff.
Unfortunately, Wade is gone. I hope that McMahon can equal his success.
While the men struggle, I will give most of my thoughts and caring toward the LSU women's basketball team!

First, as much as I appreciate the 5 year run Wade had where basketball was consistently winning and reaching NCAA Tournaments, that time is over. It's time to move on.
Second, to see LSU go from beating Arkansas and nearly winning at Kentucky to being completely outclassed in the next 3 games is frustrating. I never thought LSU would have a winning record in the first 8 games of SEC play. But I also didn't think they wouldn't be able to compete with the likes of Florida and A&M, and that they would just completely mail it in vs. Alabama. My worry is that some of the team is checking out on the staff. Now, winning cures all. But staring down the barrel of three more really tough games doesn't give you much hope winning is coming soon.
Most reasonable fans felt the best LSU could probably do this season is finish somewhere in the middle of the SEC. Right now there are 7 teams with only 1 or 2 wins in conference. That includes Kentucky and Arkansas who had MUCH bigger preseason expectations. It also includes Missouri and Mississippi St who had strong non-conference showings against weak competition...like LSU. Point being, a lot could change in 13 games.
I think this roster is better (overall) than Wade's 1st LSU team. But, I think we all forget that first season with Wade wasn't all roses. They followed up a big win vs. Michigan with a (near) 40 point loss to Notre Dame. LSU also started out unexpectedly hot in conference play. Nearly beating Kentucky, before upsetting ranked A&M and an Arkansas team on the road. They then lost 5 of 6. Including back to back games at Auburn and Tennessee in blowouts where the game was over within the first 10 minutes.
Just like it was absurd for many on here to triumphantly declare "we FINALLY have a basketball coach now!" a month ago in a definitive statement that McMahon would be the best HC at LSU ever, it is equally absurd to write him and the program off now. I think many LSU fans look at basketball through the prism of football where you only have 12 games and everyone of those is huge. Basketball has 30+ games in a season. And for every team there are generally ebbs and flows during those 30 games. So overreacting to one game...even has horrible a performance as Saturday was...is not advisable. Weird results happen in college basketball all the time. For instance. Tennessee was destroying opponents to start SEC play. One of those was South Carolina who they beat by 43. South Carolina was probably one of the two worst teams in the SEC. However, in the very next game South Carolina goes to Rupp Arena and beats Kentucky. Kentucky fans are absolutely losing their minds. So all Kentucky does in their next game is go in to Tennessee and hand them their first home loss of the season.
The takeaway: Not every game is a referendum on a head coach's career. McMahon and is team are in a big ebb right now. But we have seen them play well this season also. Let's see if they can figure it out and not declare he's a horrible HC halfway through his first season.

It’s a funny point though. Seems like the true Rantards carry every around every support and opposition opinion, at least for head coaches and key players, for years and years.
There are even some here that still have violently strong opinions on things like Les Miles, Jarrett Lee, etc and it shapes their opinions moving forward because they hate to be wrong.
Usually it’s how they felt about the prior HC and then the opposite for present one. I’d hoped CBK would alleviate all that but you still see people shite talk him now after that great first season, I guess until he wins that natty

Will Wade, good coach. Terrible cheater
McMahon : impossible to judge. Fans overrated this roster, and bought in even more after a hot start, and now are disappointed
Fans did the same thing last year when Wade’s team started 12-0 and then went something like 10-12 through SEC play & postseason. Can’t just talent for shite

Dumb.
I was a Wade supporter. I feel he was let go too soon. They should've waited until the season was over, since they were so close to the end.
That said, its over. Time to move on. Rehashing this over and over does nothing good for the program.
