I hope the staff has at least mentioned this to avoid last year. A targeting penalty in the second half by a starter would SUCK!
Gotta be extra careful with Bama looming

It would not shock me if delpit were excused or maybe Chaisson. If it happens would anyone have any doubt about what is really happening in CFB? I do not.

You don't put fear of tackling into players who have struggled to tackle at points of the season. They can preach good form tackling, which I would imagine they already do. That's all you can really do. Don't want them thinking about this shite when they go to make a play. Do what you are taught, and everything will work out fine.

I am more concerned about the uncalled targeting that Auburn is going to get away with! There will be several uncalled shots on Joe by those cheap shot POS!

If it does happen nobody will do anything about it. They continue to do it because of that. It needs to take every school not named you know who to force the SEC's hand to make changes!

Guys that the gump refs will keep a close eye on...

Chaisson
Delpit
Stingley
Fulton
Stevens

Would not surpise me at all if one of those gets a weak targeting call in the second half.

SEC review team will be glued to the game second half and I'm sure ole Gary Danielson will weigh in as well along with propping up Tua for the Heisman and how an injury shouldn't hurt him.

I don't know if a QB has ever been called for targeting but it would not shock me if Burrow got flagged

Who cares? If we don't target a player, they won't call it. If we do something questionable, and leave it in the refs hands, we will likely get burned.

And whoever is entitled to their own opinion about Tua and Bama. It will all be settled on the field in two weeks.

It is comin' or at least if the opportunity to present itself. The REC bought zebra devils and Stankey arse M...f...er has it in the game plan in the upper desk drawer. Don't feed the machine. Tigahs just need to play smart.

Simple solution...secure victory in the 1st half and play backups in the 3rd and 4th quarters!

Unfortunately every fan base is equally delusional. Florida fans were raging about how "dirty" LSU played on October 12, illegally hitting Trask low, high, and late to take him out. Auburn fans will say the same thing about our treatment of Nix. And so it goes.

They gotta get to him first. Good luck with that.

I’ve been wondering just how the REC referees are going to pull off that targeting call on #9....

if you've watched our defense out players are well coached in this regard and have been purposefully avoided leading with the helmet.

the only call I remember this year was a bs call vs mcmath on a punt return/interception. it was called a blind-side block and targeting. it was clearly neither.

This is just plain incorrect. Throughout a game, helmets will contact each other during tackles and they could, and randomly do, wrongfully penalize someone for targeting at times. This shouldn't be targeting unless it is egregiously forcible contact to the head or neck area I.e. launching yourself with your head down at another players head. Incidental/unavoidable contact should not be called as targeting. What would a suspension teach a player in the situation anyway?

its why getting a comfortable lead and being able to rest key starters is more important than ever in the NCAA. Any play int he fourth quarter can have a huge impact in the next game
