When I was an upperclassman, I hated it when the freshman trumpet players did this during pregame.
damn pregame includes the EASIEST music that should be able to be played like the back of your hand too

The loudest pre-game I have EVER experienced was as a sophomore at the 1982 Florida State game. The Orange Bowl bid was on the line. It was probably the most important game in terms of rankings and bowl bids since the '73 Alabama game, '71 ND, or '70 OM.
An LSU student dressed up like a Seminole Indian ran around and taunted the costumed Mike mascot.
Mike caught up with him, pretended to maul him, and broke his 'spear.' The student section, already delirious because of the huge implications of the game, went into a frenzy.
This all happened right before the drum major started his slow walk to midfield. It was an absolute fever pitch. The opening drum cadence was slower and more deliberate then, and when the first note of pregame finally came out, the student section was collectively in the air, with their vocal chords protruding from their lips.
FSU didn't have a fricking chance in hell.
LSU 55 FSU 21.

Cool- but not exactly a smoldering expose'.

What the hell is going on in this thread?
some old guy and some other current band member called me an idiot and a liar for saying that no one counts "1...2...3...4" while playing and marching so as to keep time because of the noise

My wet dream in life is to watch a game from the field. I really would love to experience how loud it really gets down there. I bet standing on the eye where all the sounds converges is really deafening

And like the other guy said, Florida 2009 was by far the loudest...
It sounds random but Georgia 08 was pretty damn loud. That one sticks out for some reason.

apparently some people at least think people do. your feet should help you with keeping time if you aren't a klutz

I get chill bumps when we play Hey Fightin' Tigers.
Particularly on St. Charles.

Ok Since there are band members in this thread, anyone on the drum line care to tell me what song this is? Or is it just some shite they made up?
It's called "Sunduki". And the drum line made it up, which makes it even cooler imo. One of my favorite drum cadences.

I hope the drumline is good next season.

That guy's not a band member i don't think. Just a lowly fan.

MF'in this. They were next to garbage this year. We need some godly freshman to come in and take over.

He is out of his area of expertise here. It's obvious he never played in band and doesn't know anything about music. He does have some nice posts and I enjoy reading his comments, but not this one.

None of you young whippersnappers know anything. My first Pregame people fell from the sky....No lie.
Loudest: Florida 2007. Couldn't hear the person next to you and there was a low rumble in my chest the entire cadence out.

The loudest Pregame I ever marched was the Florida game in 2009. I wish we would've won, but the stadium was rocking that night.
That pre-game was loud as all hell.

5 years in TGBFTL son.
Oops! LOL. My bad. What instrument did you play, Elleshoe? Was Bill Swor the director then? I have an album of the GBFTL that I think was from the early 70's when Mr. Swor was the director. The band had a pleasant sound then. Fantastic balance and great tone.
