With regards to our goal line stand, I'm still shocked Herman didn't try a pass play. He's supposed to be one hell of a play caller, a real genius on offense. Yet he kept running into the teeth of a FRESH defensive line. That was really foolish I thought.

LSU fans would have been booing just as much. I have no problem with burrow doing that even if they didn’t boo the injuries.

I disagree with one thing you said.

quote:

- Ehlinger was off on the long ball last night, which is not unusual, unfortunately. I really like him, but it just isn't his best area. To win that game, we really needed him to be on the money more of the time deep. Too many times the receivers had to slow-up or were overthrown and LSU corners were too good for that.

I feel that they needed to run the ball better, as far as offense. Hence why they got back into the game after being down 13 points at half time. They rushed for 121 yards total. I wish I could find the half time stats, but I am pretty sure Texas rushed for like 30-40 yards total. But I felt the backs themselves needed to be able to do that without Ehlinger's help.

Chase, Jefferson, and Marshall Jr had a showcase. Burrow was on the money, but they outplayed the Texas DBs easily. I feel like even Jordan Jefferson could have had a field day with those guys the way they played.

I also don't believe Texas misses Lil' Jordan Humphrey. I feel like their are missing a RB that can make big plays happen and actually catch the ball in the end zone. Offensively the outcome would have been the same personally.

Going into this game, I felt the hype around LSU was real, because it is. Texas played better than I realistically thought and LSU's defense did not play like I am accustomed to seeing. But at the end of the day, LSU won by the score the "experts" thought they would win by. No one thought that it would be a shootout like that though.

Great game though. Never thought I'd end up as a student at Texas when I decided to go back to school in 2016 and growing up and LSU fan my entire life, that game was great for me to watch in the student section in person.

Opposing teams for years now say that LSU fakes injuries. So, what's new?

That was some terrible play calls there on the stand. You never run to the outside of LSU's defense. whatever hole you see open on the outside it's going to immediately close and boy did it ever on that play. The team speed is too fast and always is running to the perimeter on LSU. The only way that would've worked is if you had them on their heels with misdirection which clearly they did not at that point. They ran right into the strength of LSU's defense playing perimeter pursuit. They'll overwhelmingly win that battle against any team in the country every year.

I think its entirely possible the LSU staff misjudged the "dry heat". If you are used to the humidity of South La then the less humid heat of Austin feels much better. But its still hot and probably a higher temp than typical South La. evening.

You theoretically should sweat more in less humid environments because of equilibrium. When I moved to Austin from New Orleans, I'd sweat way more. So, I could see them cramping from not staying hydrated.

Quick question, what’s up with sticking the band in the nosebleeds? I can see the fans allotment but the band? Real d!ck move and I hope for sure we repay the favor next year. Do y’all do that with all opponents?

We tailgated by the LBJ library. Great time with a bunch of LSU folks who live in Austin. It was hot, almost as bad as LSU TCU in Dallas a few years ago. We left to go watch the game in the A/C.

I'm surprised LSU didn't hydrate better. Great game for both teams. UT fans were very nice for the most part.

Oddly, I though he threw well under pressure.

They flashed a stat on TV at one point of the game comparing the two qb's under pressure. Burrow was 4/4 and Ehlinger was 1/4. I'm not sure how they finished up though.

You do, but you don't notice it. In humid areas the sweat sticks to you, in non humid areas you stay dry. Problem is you don't realize the lack of hydration in a dry heat if you aren't used to it.

I played golf in Baton Rouge one August then flew to Vegas and played a round out there in the middle of the day. All day long I felt great. No sweat and little fatigue, by the end of the day I was beat down because I wasn't hydrating. The next time out in the dry heat I hydrated and felt fine.

Your left tackle was holding Chaisson on nearly every play. Maybe they were letting the same thing go the other way. When we have the ball I just don't watch the line. I realize holding can be called on every play, but this was some MMA type shite. Chaisson was just getting taken down. But, that's the game sometimes and it's not a complaint, only an observation. Other than that though I agree officiating was great.

I agree with the blatant holding of Chaisson. However he needs to learn how to bring attention to the holding. I never saw him once complain or use body language to emphasize the fact he was being held. He needs to watch the NBA or soccer to learn how to highlight penalties being commited against him. Or get Jamal Adams to teach him. Lol.

Are you freaking kidding me? Dry heat versus other heat? You give the freaking IVs. You know how fricking hot it is?

That's just what they said cuz of all the tired players faking cramps

If a player "cramps" and then comes back in the next play, that's one thing. But when the best player on our defense cramps and then goes to the locker room in the middle of the game to get an IV, that's not faking.

Texas went to toe to toe with us all night. Did you forget they dropped s sure TD pass?
LSU also had a dropped TD pass but no one is talking about it because we won. Burrow dropped a dime in the endzone and it went right off the WR's hands. (Don't remember who it was).
