Why do you hate Hurd?

Both are going to be vital for us to have success going forward but I just don't agree with your assessment of Hurd being the clear cut #2 over Floyd.
I also haven't been doing this to Hurd all damn season like you have for Floyd

Hurd hasn’t been good all year, but I trust what I’ve seen the last 3 outings. It’s ok to disagree without saying you hate someone.

LSU will start Omaha Saturday though, So they play Saturday, Monday, Wednesday if they keep winning.
Okay. If you can get a lead on Saturday and keep Skenes under 100 pitches, do you let him go again on Wednesday and use Hurd as a reliever as needed? Or save Hurd for the Wedesday game?

Last 3 outings
Floyd - 15ip, 7ER, 4.2 ERA
Hurd- 15.1ip, 9ER, 5.36 ERA

it’s nice that the convo is who is better and not who is worse.

I don’t think you can compare Floyd vs Hurd straight up. Hurd has been used primarily as a reliever the past month where the majority of his appearances he’s coming on with runners on more than likely in scoring positions.
The whole point of this post was to show that even after Skenes, with Floyd and Hurd as our 2nd and 3rd SP in Omaha, we have 2 other guys that you can trust can extend in Omaha in games Skenes doesn’t start.
I didn’t think that was the case 2 months ago. I have always been a Floyd fan. I wanted to believe in Hurd but his consistency was always the issue. I think as a team we are in a great position heading into Omaha with our SP.

no, but you might need Skenes Thursday if we lose Wednesday, if we Win Wednesday then we get 2 days off and are in the Championship Series on Saturday. then you definitely do Skenes, and then the rest of the rotation.

This year Floyd is without a doubt the #2 on the staff.
Next year, I can see Hurd making a leap and becoming a Friday night guy. He has the breaking ball and the velocity on the fastball. If he can add more movement on his fastball he could be incredible next year.
He could also be a shut down closer if not a starter.
