Wonder why all the Lotto/Powerball winners take the reduced lump sum now instead of waiting the 20 yrs to get it all?

BK response: No Bueno-you’re the dumbass you offered me that contract

Exactly. I want BK gone, but he owes nothing to LSU in terms of cutting them a break on his guaranteed contract/buy-out.

Once again….

LSU has zero leverage here.
Not with a contract amendment, not with a buyout negotiation.

None.

BK would be an idiot to agree to it.

Assuming all the perks of being the head coach at LSU are included within a written contract, that would be correct.

Why would BK, or anyone agree to that?

What does that have to do with NIL?

You are comparing waiting 20 year vs waiting 2 years.

Don’t think so, if you are desperate you will give In. No different than we were almost 4 years ago

LSU is not the one committing the act to be fired for cause. He'd have to mess up bad for something like that to happen. No coach is going to hold tha against LSU for getting out of a contract that BK himself breached to get fired for cause.

When you say "find something" you make your true motives known. And coaches will absolutely hold a witch hunt aimed at voiding the contract against LSU.

Woody genuinely screwed himself with these stupid long contracts. No wonder why he fled A&M after 1 season w/Jimbo

1 BIG DIFFERENCE between Jimbo's contract and Kelly's contract. Kelly's LSU contract includes a mitigation clause, which means if we fire him and he gets another gig, we can subtract some portion of his new salary from the guaranteed buyout. Jimbo's contract had no such clause; so, TAMU owned him the full amount.

So, another question to consider, if LSU fired Kelly this season, how likely is he to find another job? if highly likely, why not pull the trigger if the results continue on the same trajectory?

You threaten to pull the Kelly skeletons out of the closet and tell him boosters are cutting the funding to the ’26 roster next year.

Then you start negotiating the lower buyout.

OK State must have had something on Gundy to make him bend the knee.

I mean, how does anyone know LSU was outright looking for it? Maybe BK shouldn't commit the breach of contract to get fired for cause. How could you hold that against LSU? If you're clean they can't find anything right? Are you trying to say coaches would be worried LSU would just plant something to fire them for cause? Don't be silly.

I’m so glad you’re not in a position of authority at LSU.

I’m as disgruntled with Kelly as the next guy, but if Woodward/LSU tried to use NIL budget as a leverage point to coerce Kelly into renegotiating a mutually agreed upon contract, I’d be embarrassed and pissed as an alum.

That’s a really, really bad look for the university and would torpedo future coaching searches.
