The reason the winning streak is so long is because they are worn against mostly inferior teams.

I do like the purples as well, but one thing I kinda like about wearing white at home is that the matchup looks different every week, as opposed to Purple team vs White team every single week

LSU started wearing White at home in the late 50's. It became our tradition. In the early 80s NCAA created a rule that stated home teams must wear dark colors at home. Pissed LSU fans off that we couldn't wear white and just so happened LSU started having some losing seasons, then 6 straight losing seasons 89-94 till Dinardo showed up. Part of his theme was bring back the magic to tiger stadium which included wearing white at home. He petitioned the NCAA to let us wear white again at home. NCAA agreed as long as the visiting team did not oppose. They changed the rule all together in 2009 allowing Home team to pick. It all goes back to that, I love the purple uniform, but I love the tradition of whites at home better, its part of what makes LSU unique, along with the double goal post and the numbered yard markers every 5 yards instead of every ten yards, along with one of the only college teams with our name LSU and Logo on the helmet.

"we get to see other teams best unis"........That's true in most cases, but not always. There have been games where S.Carolina, Miss. St. and A&M have come into Tiger Stadium, wearing really ugly alternate uniforms. And Georgia Tech had on some g*d awful BLACK uniform in the 2008 Peach Bowl. The worst thing I've ever seen.

I like the use of g*d awful, but if you used god awful, wouldn't that be ok since you're not referring to the almighty.

It's like referring to a god in a pantheon. Neptune, Pluto and such.

I disagree. They look like big shiny grape popcicles running around. I have seen Yellow top, white pants. I liked that look.

If you are one of those insisting on the white helmet/pants these Combat uni's with Jarrett Lee crushing Auburn a few years ago was a heck of a lot better than we saw against South Carolina.

i love the purple jerseys. love the white jersey look as well.

I don't think we should ever give up our gold helmets. I like the all white look with our gold (yellow) helmets, and the same thing when we wear the white pants.
