A bit high, 8 is the actual number. In the last 30 years you've been to 3 and lost 2. The last appearance was a 2009 31-17 loss to Utah with Saban coaching. You have to go back to 1993 for an Alabama win. I can't say I'm all that impressed.

My guess is that the Dome will be about 60-40 LSU fans. The control of tickets is more than that ratio but Bama fans are willing to pay more $ for their tickets so they will be buying more on the open market than LSU fans. In that respect you are right, it won't be a true home game for LSU but we'll have a bit of an edge.

I've been to almost every Bama bowl game and kick off classic in the last 40 years and I've never seen us have less than half the crowd. I'm giving you the 60/40 advantage due to your proximity to your fan base but we will have at least 40%. Our crazy fans travel. Count me as one of them.

Welcome to Louisiana, you do know that every single legislator is getting tickets. Corporations own a lot of tickets, each school will probably get 30% each MAX. If it was in California or Florida then yea it would be neutral.

We're not saying that Bama doesn't travel well. We are saying that it will be impossible for bama fans to get as many tickets as you think.

Our guys will be able to sleep in their own beds and practice on their own turf for most of the week leading up to the game. They're playing 75 mile from that home turf. That essentially makes it a home game, no matter how you try to delude yourself.

OK.

Scratch that off the list of excuses. Those that are still left:

1. Our kicker missed 7 field goals
2. We didn't score enough points
3. Your defense wore out our offense
4. You used trick plays
5. The refs blew 17 calls
6. We don't play well when there is a full moon

Since when have we needed anything that resembled home field advantage against Bama this year?

Oh Really?

Past decade:

2003 BCSNCG LSU vs Oklahoma LSU WINS

2007 BCSNCG LSU vs Ohio STate LSU WINS

Oh and by the way the goal posts are no wider in the dome than at BDS.

Frick the Gumps!

What really makes it a home field advantage smartass is the fact 10 LSU players call New Orleans their hometown, and many of the current roster are from the surrounding area. You don't think it's an advantage for us to have players like Matheiu, Freak Johnson, DeAngelo Peterson playing in their hometown, in the Superdome, in front of their friends and families, while representing their home state?

Agree. I think Alabama and Oklahoma State should be playing for second place. LSU's crystal ball ceremony should be before the game starts.

I actually wanted to start this on the SEC Rant but when I tried it said it was closed.

You LSU fans sure are a sensitive bunch. A 14 page thread over a Bama fan spouting off.

ODB, Badger, Francios, Freak and Jefferswag are going to serve a down-home beatdown.

What happens when you lose this one? We take the trophy and you don't.

I actually think an AP split would be OK with me, as long as you keep it close. We won a couple of AP NC's before the bowl games counted in 64' and 73'. Unfortunately those days are over and you'll have to beat Saban twice in the same year if you want to be in the history books. Not easy and this is our best team since Bryant was our coach.
