that's just a fantastically stupid statement. Bama fans won't get an opportunity to buy those tickets. Those tickets are going to Corps and Businesses and politicians and other special interest groups in the New Orleans area. That is decided LONG before the teams are ever announced and Louisiana residents are going to be fighting each other for those tickets. Yeah, some will find their way to ebay and stubhub, but not 20-22k of them.

I've been to almost every Bama bowl game and kick off classic in the last 40 years and I've never seen us have less than half the crowd. I'm giving you the 60/40 advantage due to your proximity to your fan base but we will have at least 40%. Our crazy fans travel. Count me as one of them.

Good thing for LSU the Super Dome will be a home game for you then.

I love that the gumps have no idea what they're in for. Alabama has never played for a MNC in a BCS game played in it's back yard, so they have no clue what it does for you. I've seen BCSCGs played in New Orleans where the teams bring plenty of fans and 'take over' the French Quarter, but it's never compared to what happened in '03 and '07. Downtown had to shut down for 3 days effectively. Ultimately they closed down Poydras, and were forced to shut down the quarter like they do on Mardi Gras. It's a whole nother level.

No, Gump, those that ignore history just make it up and claim championships anyway.

Unless there are alot of Alabama owned businesses in NOLA, you've lost your mind. The corporate tickets will greatly increase the Tiger fan's presence.

nice story, Tree Slayer, but how many of those bowl games were played in the backyard of the other team for a National Championship?

Also...40 years? Aren't you a little old to be acting like a 18 year old kid on the internet? You embrace your inner-Updyke, don't you?

No, no you wont.

They might. You know Bama fans will sell their trailors to be in that game.
