Shea’s latest update, while he says some is just from his gut, doesn’t sound particularly good for LSU.

Welcome back, King of logic.

Thanks man. I've been lurking also. Just haven't been wanting to discuss anything because of this Burrow nonsense, the personal attacks on Orgeron and CPM and especially the "you hate O so much you want LSU to fail" bullshite.

If he chooses Cincinnati, then there is probably not much LSU could have done to convince him to come here.

A competent head coach and offensive coordinator would help.

Did it ever occur to any of you provincial baws that some people wouldn't want their child to actually live in Louisiana?

If you bring the kid to BR, show him Tiger Stadium, show him the facilities, show him the talent he would be playing with, and he still picks Cincy, I’m not entirely sure what more O and his staff could have done.

Yeah sure, you show him the amenities and what not but I felt from the very beginning that those things would not be what moved the needle here. He's choosing between LSU and Cincinnati. They're not even close as far as facilities go so obviously that's not something they value a great deal.

This is probably about coaching relationships. Obviously they have a huge amount of respect for Busch. He seems to be the main reason why we got the visit. But he's the safties coach. He can't really promise anything or really control anything about Burrow's utilization. You look at Cincinnati, and the relationship there is with Fickell, the head coach. He can control everything about his utilization. There's more trust there.

But I guess we'll see. Nothing is finalized yet. E and O had to do an appreciably better job at this presentation than Fickell to win them over. We'll see if that happened.

Did anyone really expect him to commit so soon anyway?

Given that the start of the season is 90 days away...

I understand that but can't he have a few days to think it over and not commit on the spot?

By all reports he and his family were actually impressed with the offensive staff and what they laid out for him.

Did they not find out LSU is located in Louisiana until this weekend? They obviously had some sort of interest in leaving Ohio or they never would have wasted their time visiting here to begin with.

He should ask Gunner Kiel how Cincinnati worked out.

Gunner was the one that messed up that situation.

These are all repercussions of having O as HC and Ensminger as OC. O did a terrible job handling the Canada situation and promoting the man who publicly stated he didn’t want the job. None of this process was sexy to anyone.
