for the defense. I would give him a few chances. Anyone disagree?

How do you think we “hide” him? Don’t you think opposing DC’s when they see him come in will account for him as a WR?

They are gonna find ways to get him on the field. And with the WR talent flexing him out at TE with Moss/Foster and Chase & Marshall outside is gonna cause problems. He’s 235 6-7 and is a decent blocker. TE may actually be this kids future on sundays. I love the move. Ain’t no Lber or S covering SS!

It doesn’t matter what the coaches account him for anybody covering him will be wayyy smaller unless its a linebacker thats wayyy slower.

He could be like Vernon Davis but 4 inches taller.

Lol that’s just not true. If the DC sees him come in they will go nickle or dime or put a DB on him.

You aren’t gonna fool good DC’s by what you call a players position.

If he breaks huddle as TE and flares out to WR he will be covered as a WR.

I agree that he would be a nightmare for a LB.

The premise of the OP is that he'd somehow get on a LB or safety and be a mismatch.

He doesn't have to go to TE to be a mismatch on a smaller player.

WTF you talking bout, Willis?

You can’t, and don’t need to hide a 6’7” TE. You use him to create mismatches all over the damn field.

I'm saying we need to get him on the field if other smaller WR getting all the playing time. We also lost a great pass catching TE for the season.

This. He's unstoppable vs man coverage. He will be useful as the inside WR in a bunch formation running outside vs LBs or smaller CBs using slant/wheel or slant/flat combos.

Didn’t work last year. My point is you can call him a TE all day.

Opposing DC’s know he is a WR and will put a coverage package on him as a WR.

It’s irrelevant if we call him a TE or WR.

hoe do we know LB's will be wayyy slower? I never noticed him being particularly fast last season. Was he a 100m track guy in High school?

Do you remember Josh Reed sitting on the bench while Craig Nall and another walk on QB were being used as WR because the starter had stolen a purse and was suspended.
Who was the genius that failed to use Reed.

He had better start showing some toughness and better hands if he wants to play TE at the next level.
