you're full of shite. gaining 45lbs in 3 months without getting fat or working out or juicing doesn't happen.

I worked outside doing manual labor all summer, played basketball everyday as well. It didn't look like i got that much bigger, but it said so on the scale. Not sure where the bulk of the weight came from.
and i'm not full of shite, and why would i lie about it? Just trying to say it's not impossible for a 19 year old to gain substantial weight quickly, just like it's not impossible for a 19 year old to gain 5-6 inches over a summer.

I don't feel like he's being fully accountable or honest with what he took. If it was an over the counter drug, why didn't they name it in the press conference?

I would think it would have been a test. It's possible that it could have tainted another substance but it's highly unlikely that a product carried at gnc or something would put this in there. Grier will have to prove that to win his appeal.

It probably was ligandrol or something similar but having the substance name out there makes the story UF was spinning today very unlikely.

I saw his tearful apology but I have a hard time believing there's an OTC medication out there that would contain a banned ingredient. If there were, why wouldn't the trainers or coaches point it out to them and tell them not to take it???? I just don't buy it. But I'll stand by and wait for someone to flip me the bird or tell me how stupid I am

What an ignorant statement.

The 2000 Olympic Champion in Gymnastics had her title stripped shortly after her win because a test came back positive for a banned substance. It was something that was in a cold medicine she was given BY HER TEAM DOCTOR shortly before the competition. Since then that ingredient has been taken off the list because it is so common in OTC medications, but her title has not been given back. My point being that there are PLENTY of ingredients in OTC medication that can cause these players to test positive.

Now, this is completely independent from whether or not I believe his account of how things happened. The jury is still out on that and the accounts of the very quick weight gain do seem a little dubious.

That press conference was like when you're little and calling your mom from school and talking like you don't feel good so you can go home for the day.

I really think its a careless oversight of something bought OTC.

I agree about it being a harsh penalty, but everyone should know that anything with he suffix "-androl" is going to be banned by the NCAA. You're supposed to check with your trainers.

Positive drug screen. How it got there isn't an issue. He'll know better next time.

What he did was stupid and he is paying the price, but he didn't go from 170 to 215 this year.

He is listed at 203 right now, his second year in school. He weighed 200 lbs his true freshman season. Most recruiting services had him coming into school around 180. So over two years he's gained somewhere around 25 pounds.

Wait- on what planet did he gain 45 pounds in 3 months- the guy got to Gainesville at 185 in January of 2014, if he's 210 now that's 25 pounds in 18 months.

This guys timeline makes it sound like he gained all that in one offseason. This is his second year on the Florida campus, his official weight last year as a true freshman was 200 lbs. He also didn't weigh in at 215 for this season, so his dad's tweet doesn't mean all that much.
