I think what a lot of people fail to realize is that LSU used to have a reputation for the most drunken asinine fans in the nation for a LONG time. in the last 5 to 10 years our fans IMO have cleaned up there act and are starting to get a good reputation throughout the sec and nation. chants like 'F U _____' are reversing that trend.

i think it would be hilarious to have students split up all over the stadium, maybe that way, the students yelling would encourage many of the old farts into yelling, and, finally, the whole stadium would finally have to stand during the game, it would be awesome

Well, I guess we can't recruit Chase Clement anymore. He said his visit was, "bad arse." And, as we all know, "arse" is one of the few 3 or 4 letter words that inexplicably causes an angel to lose its wings and fall into the bowels of hell. When will people learn - These aren't just guns, alcohol or something else that's harmless. These are words!!!

we have a bad reputation with schools that are our traditional rivals. if you've noticed, every team that comes here that isn't a traditional rival has only great things to say. i brought two florida fans to my tailgate saturday and showed them a great time.

if you were there from 1969-72 you are close to my era 1975-198ty something. do you remember how big the SS was? Do you remember how it was closer to the fifty yard line? Do you remember how they used to just punch our ID's, and we didn't even need a ticket (remember how many games we lost) anyway, I don't want the SS to shrink, I think it gives us an edge in the game, but i am afraid these kids are playing into jerky alums who are always looking for seats...

if you honestly thought LSU athletics could survive without LSU football, you sir, are an idiot. I know plenty of people who would protest the university in donations if this happened. Not to mention football players who would protest, and oh yeah, good luck recruiting players while having to explain to them that LSU doesn't have a student section.

do you realize that this is COLLEGE fb? if there were no student section, attendance would drop. i wouldn't have gone to lsu (which i have loved my entire life). visiting players would question why we don't have a ss. current players would be upset that the people who cheer for them the most are not around. ie. fewer students, less money, less recruiting, worse team, less fanbase.

Glad you brought up recruiting. I was visiting with someone in the Ath. Dept. about a week ago. We were discussing a few things including the 'F U Spurrier' chant. He said that while the recruits that were at that game obviously don't care about the languauge, they knew that the parents of a few recruits were seriously TURNED OFF by it. In fact that is one of the reason for threats coming down. Most students dont' realize that the recruits and families sit right there by them.

There are ways to humiliate and degrade the opposition without cursing in front of families.
