And no, for the rest of you twenty-something children, that doesn't mean they can't have fun.

They should bring in a consultant who coaches his son in travel ball to teach them how to take the game seriously.

If you use your brain you're gay.

who's saying that?

I think everyone here is saying that bitching about 20 year olds having fun playing a game is ridiculous, which is what the OP is doing.

I have a Rex thread bookmarked that has 479 downvotes. Not linking it so that the number doesn't increase, but I think that's the TD record.

They're very much still kids.

This may be, but college life is a transitional phase. It's learning adulthood with some safety nets built in.

It's been 40 years since I was in undergraduate school, and in addition to finishing graduate and doctoral training, I had the fortune of a great career, and got to help raise two children. At 18-22, college kids are still kids who are attaining additional education and transitioning into adulthood.

So lawn games should be taken more seriously than this?

Remind me to never invite you to a strip poker game.

You talk a lot about how old you are, with the implicit assumption that we should therefore value your opinions.
The proof's in the pudding, pops.

You must be my age. No more stupid than dancing after a sack or a touchdown. Or dunking obsession

Wrong. The human brain doesn't mature until mid to late twenty.
They are kids but in adult bodies. That's what confuses people.

You're welcome.

pre-frontal cortex in males. I get it. I don't expect them to act middle-aged. Nor should they act like children. They are not kids. If they are, then why do we encourage them to have so much fun, when we know fun for them usually involves drinking alcohol and having sex? Are those activities we want kids to engage in? Can't have it both ways.

Regardless of whether anyone likes or dislikes the rally "stupidity" (not my words), the reality is that people act differently in front of cameras. If these games were not televised on ESPN and such the rally "stupidity" would probably not be as bad.

But this is an age where people post everything about themselves for strangers to see at all hours of the day. So hamming it up for the cameras a bit should not surprise anyone. Just look at reality TV.

Personally, it doesn't bother me if they do it or not since it has no outcome on the game. If both teams show rally "stupidity" in a game it won't work for one of them. Didn't help TAMU much.
