So you wouldn't hate on JL for throwing interceptions to someone ELSE?? Just the guys that he did? And if that is your arguement, then you should be more pissed at the OL and other offensive players that can't tackle.....

Imo , its not the fact that he made lots of mistakes, its how costly those mistakes were, they changed the offense and defensive game plans, hurt team confidence and morale, maybe more importantly is the fact that given many chances, he still stared recievers down, he couldnt seem to adjust At All!

Nobody hates Lee you fool. They just think that he shouldn't be the starting quarterback.
Now go back to your drinking and leave thinking to those better equipped for it.
Were you talking to me? I know nobody truly hates Lee. I, too, think that he shouldn't be the starting quarterback. But threads like this only serve to recall all the difficulties the poor kid had last year. Why keep bringing it up? It doesn't seem that there's a lot of "thinking" involved here....FOOL!

I'm pretty sure the originator of this thread does...
or at least he hates the people that refuse to hate JL....

We're screwed if JJ goes down with an injury.
And please don't say Shepard. We saw in the spring game he isn't ready to be a passer in this league.

JL will stick around this year I'm sure

The problems JL had last year are typical of a first year starter. LM made mention 2-3 diff times the other night about the youth and inexperience at the qb position.
The pick six deal is fuking OLD. NOt only is it old but it was a fluke.
JL's iterception count was the alarming thing to me, not the pick 6.
ID be willing to bet everything I have that if JL started 8 games in 09 and threw as many or more ints that that pick 6 number would be less.
There's no middle ground with many of you people concerning these qbs.
"its so clear" that JJ is a better.
I laugh when I read that.
Some of you shouldnt be so quick to prasie or persecute first year player qbs.
Couple of bad plays or gmaes and JJ will be in the same boat as JL... then itll be RS turn to be put up on chopping block.
Wait a sec didnt RS have couple TO's in spring game????
Never ending, the grass is always fuking greener on the other side.

I think a Tiger fan needs to step up and make a hitler video about Jarret Lee

False. Some of Lee's passes were the worst I have ever seen at the D-1 level. It wasn't lazy tackling or players giving up that led to the Auburn touchdown. Ronnie Lott, Brian Urlacher, and Julius Peppers couldn't have stopped that pick 6.
While there were a couple of interceptions that weren't gift-wrapped touchdowns for the opposition, there were just as many that were truly awful throws.

i agree. i dont know how he didn't throw more pick-6's. i think was bailed out several times from drops. lee was probably the most innacurate lsu qb i've seen.

JJ's confidence would have been shattered to the extent that we would not have had him with the same QB mentality he showed later in the season.
Very lame excuse, imo. If he can't handle it, he doesn't deserve a scholarship.

matt stafford didnt throw 36 pts to the other team however. matt stafford also beat some decent teams that year with auburn, ga tech and va tech.
there's no comparison between lee and stafford.
Jordan Jefferson will start in the fall and lee will become the Craig Nall of the 90's.

Miles understands the long term vision of a football PROGRAM.
Even though Miles decision to boot RP probably led to 2-3 more losses than we should have had, that decision alone will greatly make up in the long run.
And if anyone has the attitude that it was Miles' fault that RP got the ax, they should turn the blame to the person who is at fault....Ryan Freaking Perrilloux!!!!

I doubt it will ever stop. 100 years from now, when Jarret Lee and the rest of us are worm food, there will be "Jarret Lee Sucked" legacy threads on this board beating the decaying bones of JL for the interceptions he threw last year. I'm glad I won't be around to read them.
Ditto...but one never knows, there is always a shot at redemption....just ask Jamie Howard!! If Jamie didn't have the "Magic is Back" game the following year, we'd be talking even more about the interception game in '94...as it is, it's only brought up a couple of times a year now, because the kid had a chance at redemption..unfortunately for JL, with the QB situation now, he may not ever get that chance at redemption....I feel bad for the kid.

quote:Do you really need this spelled out for you. It was the way the INT"s were thrown, right into the hands of an oncoming defender GOING THE OTHER WAY AT FULL SPEED, there was no way an offensive player makes those tackles, sheer inertia and physics won't allow it. Sure, someone maybe could have run down the defender after he had already galloped 20 or 30 yards and stopped him at the 5, but the other team would have still likely scored anyway. Besides O linemen are not going out there as defenders looking to make a tackle on a safety or DB, they are busy blocking their man. What don't people understand about this?
And if that is your arguement, then you should be more pissed at the OL and other offensive players that can't tackle.....
