re: Stop making excuses for Moffitt. Why is the bar set low for him?

Devin White looks like the typical bama player you are describing. Saban just gets the absolute best players and develops them. Say what you want, he’s the best of all time. He doesn’t cheat, he gets shite done in a professional manner. It’s pathetic sitting here making excuses for why LSU can’t beat Alabama. The reason is simple. Nick saban. He won’t lose to LSU again while he’s at bama. Book it.

There is no secret to strength except lifting heavy weight. Our guys are plenty strong compared to everyone except Bama. I think it’s obvious Bama is doing more than just pushing steel.

Saban is the best, no doubt. They recruit better players yes but their guys are clearly in a very advanced weight training program.

Yeah like the East German Women’s Swim Team of the 70’s.

No we don’t we recruit well but Bama is out recruiting everyone.

Absolutely. Cochran is an absolute freak. If you’ve ever seen an interview with him or watched him work with their players in the weight room you’d know. He’s next level. A lot of Saban’s Success is because if that guy.

When will people realize that the recruiting between LSU and Alabama overall has not been equal for many years. People swear we have the same talent as them and that’s the biggest lie you can tell yourself.

The bitching about Moffitt is one of the most overblown aspects of this program.

When we continue to get manhandled in the trenches against Florida and Bama, we can’t put all the blame on the position coaches. Moffitt needs to be held accountable just like everyone else.

Alter thread starter. Gotta love it.

so....saban had moffitt and wanted moffitt when he went to bama. Why do you think that is and do you honestly believe moffitt would be a weak link at bama?
follow up statement...you're an idiot for thinking that moffitt is a problem

Well weve changed coaches, athletic directors, etc.
Havent changed the S&G guy.
Just throwing it out there.
We obviously handled UCF after they punched the team in the mouth.

The trench problems are not entirely derived from poor strength/conditioning. Yes, we need to get stronger and better conditioned. However, we have not had depth - even well conditioned athletes eventually get weaker and more fatigues without ample support. We have also been sloppy technically - when similarly strong and conditioned athletes tie up, the more technical athlete will win every time. We have a lot to clean up in the trenches. We need a deeper talent pool, as a start, then focus on technique. Strength/conditioning then becomes only supplement to that.
As I said previously, I miss the days of bullying teams. But, we didn't just outmuscle teams. We were deep, talented, and technical.

i have no opinion on moffitt either way. having said that, for the better part of a decade our offensive scheme has been an embarrassment to humanity. the best strength coach in the world probably cant do a whole hell of alot to overcome mindless, predictable play calling.

I like Moffit and he’s a legend in the SC college game, but I do think we have some DEs and lineman that are far too heavy and have bad weight. Same on O line. No need for 300lb plus DEs.

Remind me again the total number of five-star recruits on each team?
The difference between #1 and #2 is glaring in terms of accumulated talent. #2 is closer to #5 than they are to #1. You assume 1-5 is a homogeneous, elite group separated primarily by S&C development. That’s simply not supported by the facts.

You don't go 10-3 against a tough schedule if this is the case
Our offensive line needs to improve but part of that is youth and technique issues. It's not like these guys are a bunch of pussies. We have some very strong offensive linemen.

bullshite! The fact is that the team lacks strength and stamina. The linemen have no shape or tone and some just flat out look sloppy.
And as a previous poster said we no longer bully/push people around or mail them. Moffit has long overstayed his welcome.
