All of that is true. Similar to football we picked the worst time to not play to our capabilities. Both sports are competing for championships though which is always good. We could all be ole miss fans so life isnt all that bad.

I agree they were def prepared. if the SB bats were as dead in BR as they were tonight we would have been playing tonight in Omaha.

Definitely believe that we could beat Ariz or Fla St. In the super regional, it seemed like the balls we hit were all to position players. Also in last game I thought we were swinging for the fence, resulting in easy outs for sb outfield. The SB infield didnt impress me that much. Their hitting on the other hand was impressive. They got the breaks they needed for their pitchers to hang around.

LSU wasn't the better team last weekend but you think we are the better team overall. LSU beat SC and Fla so we are the better team. See a flaw there? Maybe Fla fans feel like they are the better team despite losing to us.

Yet, we took the SEC title so there is a good argument to be had that we are, in fact, the best team in the SEC. Having to beat top quality opponents week in and week out leads one to believe that we are a talented team.

Losing to SB by 2 runs in the 2nd game and 5 in the third while batting just north of .150 means that if we had been anywhere near our normal season average we probably would have won the second game.

Bats have a lot to do with that. A lot of the warning track power we had last weekend would have been homers 2 years ago.

Stony Brook started to believe their own press. Happened to us as well. Baseball is cruel like that.

I'm kind of surprised the bats went cold but Johnson getting rocked doesn't surprise me at all.

Yeah, I'm more surprised by their lack of hitting than anything else....not surprised that people can rip their pitching.

They'll be better on Sunday.

Their hitting was a bit overrated by this board. They did crush us on Sunday but they only scored 7 runs through the first 2+ games and Gausman shut them down. The aces they face in Omaha will continue to do that.

I think UCLA went up 5 runs before SB got a chance to bat (I think).

That probably surprised them and made them start doing things they normally wouldn't do at the plate...getting them to swing at pitches they weren't swinging at during the super. They hadn't been behind in a game for at least 2 weeks. Probably forgot what it felt like.

I still expect them to hit better than today.

They're looking at a 2 and Q which most of us expected. (Handjobbers aside)

Still, they hit Gausman and Nola better than anyone else had hit them. I doubt thats because both of them and Eades was off. Maybe they played above their heads last weekend, but they were crushing our guys. Just like we crushed their Sunday starter.

Only 6 hits.

2 of 3 runs and 4 of 6 hits came in that downpour.

Florida and Kentucky hit him much harder.

Regardless of when they came, they hit him, better than most, and did it to our other weekend guys
