It’s not that bad, but I don’t think he merits #3. For a corner to go that high he needs to be able to erase all but about a half dozen receivers (who can’t be erased). Stingley has never shown that.

However, he is an excellent corner who certainly merited at least the 12th pick, so I don’t think they’ll be very disappointed.

Stingley showed everything the NFL needed to see well before the SECCG in 2019.

Congrats to Derek! Very happy for him and his family. Hope he reps the brand well and pays it back.

The Texans will regret this pick.

Going to Texans is fitting
He’ll be able to rest the last 6 games when the team is 3-7 with no playoff chance

Texans are Old School Saints bad in both clueless Ownership. Management and Coaching. (Think John Mecom and J.D. Roberts bad)

I lived in Houston for 3 years and feel sorry for the City with this shite show organization.

Surprising at number 3

Player: consistently projected top 5 in the draft gets drafted top 5.

Guy on message board: surprised.

I’m looking out for those posters who disowned Stingley after the injuries and now claim him again

It’s pretty much every up-voter in this thread.

Will be interesting to see how long it takes him to milk an injury and/or demand a trade as the Texans pile up losses.

Texans probably could have traded down to 10 and still got him. Injuries and commitment are a slight concern

Did you NOT see who the 4th pick was? If the Texans don't take him at 3 the Jets take him at 4.

I’m happy to see a tiger go so high.

Stingley is about the most talented db to come out in the past 5 years. Talent aside, it’s his heart that I’ve always questioned.
