of their 3 TD passes went to WRs, including the last one and that was Stingley’s man. He didn’t just miss the tackle, he got beat on the catch.

I think it was some kind of zone on that play.

The lack of effort he gave last year and in the 2nd half last night was abysmal

That half-hearted weak arse attempt of a 3rd qtr sideline tackle was disgusting. We got outplayed and out coached. WOODY needs to let CEO know "This year is your 2nd chance."

I’m not arguing, that just sucks. Our DBs were scary when I was young. I remember we made jay cutler cry during a game his last year at vandy. Laron was that dude our current team lacks

I've started posts in the past couple years regarding our DBU moniker and recent so-so recruiting success or lack thereof. Of course, I always get downvoted and castigated fiercely. LSU always hard hard hitting safeties and CBs that could cover and tackle. Now we've got Flott, who was about 160 when he arrived and is still too skinny. Ward was similar but not as thin. They both try really hard and work their asses off, but they're not up to DBU standards. Ricks is the real deal, but Sting is afraid of hard contact. He literally avoids tackling. He had two half-hearted attempts at tackling last night that were just piss-poor. Last I heard, football is all about blocking and tackling, even if you can cover well.

Stingley doesn’t care about being a leader or about playing for LSU. He knows he’s good enough to get drafted first round no matter what. He will get an “injury” after our next bad loss and sit out the rest of the season. All he has cared about since 2019 is the NFL.

That's just not true. Stingley just isn't a leader or vocal. He cares about the team though. He just shouldn't be counted on to be a leader.

Roy, sage, ojulari, max, nuss, and some of the young guys will have to step up.

Sting followed him from one sideline to another. That would be an odd zone scheme, don’t you think?

I'm reading things people are saying about Stingley and I'm trying to understand how anyone could think he's a selfish player or trying to put this persona on him when he's done absolutely nothing to deserve this. He's always been a quiet guy and lately has been more vocal because they're really pushing him to be now that he's older and being looked at for awards and getting ready to transition into the next phase of his football career. Besides that one play, they never really threw his way and he made plays when he needed to unlike many of his teammates besides Ricks. It's crazy how his character his being dragged through the mud when he's never done anything to warrant it. Never been in trouble, has always done what he's asked.

Many of you are critical of him because of NIL. And I knew once this happened, people would point to it as an excuse when someone doesn't play well. Bryce Young is making a hell of a lot more than Stingley and played his arse off yesterday. Olave from Ohio State did the same and is projected to be a 1st round pick in the draft like Stingley and played well. Like stop doing that to these guys. Yes when they do something wrong it's okay to be critical. But to attack their character because of your own personal feelings over things is stupid and unnecessary. Stingley is a good guy that comes from a good family and raised the right way and people saying anything other than that don't know him or don't really care to know him only for what he can do for you.

The hard truth is he's living off past performance's. Seems like he's cashed in his chips and is just trying to stay healthy until the draft.

Meh, even if he makes that tackle its game. Only chance was to rip out the ball

Even when the defense got the ball back before we didnt do anything with it. There were ZERO guarantees that we were going to go down and score. There was plenty of blame to go around before that play. But yes let's just focus on that one play.

Clark def is not making the right reads. He runs away EVERY play. EVERY play.

Sometimes if you don’t laugh you’ll just go crazy. I mean… it’s crazy that Damone Clark is a legit athletic freak and just can’t grasp the ILB position.

I know it’s kind of a joke, but seriously, the dude is 6’3” 225ish and has spent the last three seasons walking down opposing teams’ fastest players from behind. The guy will probably run in the 4.4 range at the Combine (or Pro Day) and is always one of the weight room standouts.

What about the boy being five steps on stingley before he even made the catch. Yeah...cover for stingley. The out of bounds excuse is also laughable.

"Stingley’s job is to cover wide receivers. Not one single wide receiver caught a ball last night. None. He did his job flawlessly."

unless you don't count WR Chase Cota's TD catch (untouched), or WR Kyle Phillips 45 yard TD catch where the so-called #7 was trailing him (HIS COVER!) while he caught the ball over the middle, and then COMPLETELY WHIFFED on the arm tackle before the game-clinching TD

good eyes

you mean his one solo tackle, zero pass deflections, zero QB hurries (his one blitz was futile, led to a long completion), and THREE MISSED TACKLES on touchdowns of runs that directly led to a touchdown?
